Oh sick, thanks for elaborating, everybody. I'll probably check it out soon, especially if it's only 12 episodes.

I said come in! posted:Everyone abandoned Tumblr awhile ago. The platform as far as I know is pretty dead now. This is something that people say constantly and it's buck wild for me, a tumblr user, because the website seems just as active as it ever was? I assume people who say this only went there to jack off to porn lol

The other possibility is that they at some point read the news about it being sold for 3 million dollars to the wordpress guy and decided that website quality and engagement is coupled with its monetary value

Cardiovorax posted:That's really all they could get for it? Wow, that's really just sad, considering how much of a household name tumblr was for a while. Guess that proves that enforcing some sort of quality control is in fact a good thing even on the internet. Yahoo bought it for over a billion dollars. Six years later, Verizon allegedly disposed of it for 3 million, after they ate up Yahoo.

Did not get a chance to post yesterday after my stream because I pretty much went downstairs to take some more medicine but Dark Souls II is proving to be more and more fun the more I work my way through it. Iron Keep being hidden in a windmill is wild and I cannot help by love how bonkers that is. It makes sense to me in my theory of what the game is saying: This world is a distant and breaking down memory of Lordran. Those four primal souls being the lost souls of the original lord vessel souls helps to substantiate that this is a remembered version of Lordran and all it was and that the memory is not strong enough to accurately recall just where Iron Keep (Lost Izalith/Demon Ruins) was placed at the time. In fact everything about Drangleic represents a half remembered version of DS1's locations and the struggle for why NPCs cannot remember so much is almost the solipsism of the player character coming through. They embody the last soul memory of the original player character who has these fragments of people they once spoke to scattered and tattered around the world. Mopey guy by the statue is the firelink mopey guy as an example If I am correct, I seriously like the way this is going. Also I beat quite a few bosses and had a moment where I ran into a boss zone and completely forgot every control in the game and just kept eating fruit in front of them as rats and a giant toxic wolf attacked me.

That would have been so much cooler than the actual plot and reason for why the world doesn't make sense (it's because the developers paid no attention.)

I think it was definitely intentional to give everything a dreamlike quality to it. VG probably shouldn't read this bit till he finishes the non-DLC portion of the game: Scholar of the First Sin's stuff gets pretty explicit in it's message that maybe constantly repeating Gwyn's gently caress-up of trying to drag out the age of fire is a bad thing. A lie is still a lie. They continue to hammer home on this with 3, the series is basically screaming it at you by that point.

I beat Miles Morales Spider-Man on ps4. Good game, but there's no reason why this couldn't have been a DLC. Felt very, very thin. Was it a full price game on release? I confess I received it as an Xmas gift, so I've no clue how much the game cost.

Cardiovorax posted:Works out to about the same thing, doesn't it? Nah, there are ways to achieve that effect without the game's dev problems that resulted in them just having to mash different places together in ways that didn't always work, it is also why the dlc is largely more cohesive and coherent in design.

Also, something that is kinda neat I saw someone point out is that with all of the game's main paths, you tend to get a sorta day to night cycle going so idk how intentional that was but it is neat how the paths to the 4 primal bonfires tend to follow a rough area progression of day to night.

The primal bonfires were pretty awesome also very funny moment when the last one exploded and sent me flying back in my attempt to light it! Plus when going up against the Duke's Freya and seeing that old one dragon stuck in the ceiling having been slowly devoured was creepy and incredible set design. This was the part on stream where someone mentioned the old souls and it clicked that the Duke's archives in DS1 was linked to the new Duke in DS2 and that this was effectively Seath's soul reborn elsewhere. Goodness! I truly do enjoy the heck out of this game

I’ve been trying to remember, some racing game or such that had a course wherein you go through a tunnel and the time of day changes, like maybe sunset to nighttime

Whole lotta question marks on release dates for the games I'm most looking forward to in the back half of 2021. I wouldn't be too surprised if none of them made it into this year. Resident Evil Village - May 7th Guilty Gear Strive - June 11th Kena: Bridge of Spirits - August 24th Life is Strange: True Colors - September 10th Horizon Forbidden West - ??? Stray - ??? Graven - ??? Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge - ??? Baldur's Gate 3 (full release) - ???

CubeTheory posted:let me tell you, Dark Souls 2 is the best one. this but unironically I know it gets slated a lot, but I enjoyed 2 more than the other From games simply because of the build varieties and how quickly it is to get into a specific playstyle that doesn't need some time investment to get going properly. The smooth stone coop mechanic that lets you trade rewards for crafting items is a great mechanic that lifts the game up enormously. It spurs on the coop gameplay and gifts you handsomely for being a helpful player. DS2 may be the runt of the litter but to me its systems mesh together so well.

Right now I am enjoying Dark Souls 2 more than 1 (but as was pointed out yesterday, I also dig the Bed of Chaos and my favourite zone is Demon Ruins/Lost Izalith. ) Dark Souls 1 took me a few sessions to get into the swing of it, but I did come straight from Bloodborne. Dark Souls 2 I came straight from Dark Souls and right off the bat I connected with it.
