I finally got into the casino. While talking to the dude with the $1,000,000 statue for sale I had jitter, bumped A too many times, and now I have the statue and only $400,000 to my name.

I think I may restart my day because I had plans for that money that didn't involve this statue.

i do not understand the problem

Does anyone have Grampleton Fields installed for SVE? Is it compatible with Granpa's Farm?

I'm visiting an older family member this weekend and am going to update all their SV mods, and I just saw Grampelton Fields as an optional file. Looks like it could be fun for them. It says you need a "beefy" computer to run the map, so I'm curious if an older i7 + 970 is beefy enough.

Its a reward from a quest on the bulletin board, Willy probably, I think you can buy small ones from Willy or Robin, and a vendor sells the big ones in the extreme late game.

Ty! Didn’t realize all the bulletin board quests gave more than money tbh

You can totally be 'honourable' instead of 'clever'. I think I used 10 stairs and barely got honourable.

Lots of luck, lots of speed, a really good weapon, a big pile of mega bombs and quickly crafting more. Toteming in helps too.

The reward is the same either way so, whatever.

EDIT : The big difference is when the luck kicks in and you get holes that drop you like 4 to 8 floors at a time.

Note, the special orders from the big board by Mayor Lewis' house are the ones that give blueprints and other unique rewards. Not the requests on Pierre's Shop.

I could have sworn I used more than the reported number of staircases, but maybe I didn't and still got the "you got principles kid" speech.

I got to level 117 earlier today without staircases. Go on a high luck day using a desert totem, use a speed food, and use bombs/napalm ring to blast rubble away quicker.

High luck is really the key. Find a lucky day, equip a lucky ring, and eat some lucky food. You'll be careening down shafts in no time.

Forge poo poo, duh.

There's a journal note that details what the forge does, but various gems can be slapped onto weapons to improve stats, prismatic shards can be used to enchant weapons and tools, and your Galaxy weapons can be enchanted with Galaxy Souls. 3x souls turns it into an Infinity weapon.

You can also combine the effects of two rings into a single ring, and the effect of one pair of boots onto another boot's apperance.

I went on a crazy run, getting shaft after shaft, some 10+, once I got to 70 odd I had 20 staircases left and just went for it. So many times the first rock I'd break would have a ladder underneath. It was great.

I keep forgetting about the new bulletin board by Lewis'. Just got into Y2 summer and still haven't returned his underwear. gently caress building relationships with townsfolk.

I'll do the occasional side quest, but I'm too busy building up my farming empire to worry about keeping the villagers happy.

Once things settle down I suppose I will get some of the relationship achievements, though.

My current game is the first time I kept Lewis's shorts and put them in the grange display. I'm in spring Y2 now and still haven't given them back, maybe I'll put them back on the grange display along with a bunch of eggplant and peaches. Definitely need to craft some signs to decorate the town with.

poo poo did I remember it wrong, am I really better off aging cheese and selling plain wine?

Mr. Prokosch
Feb 14, 2012

Behold My Magnificence!
Best cask value per day goes:
1. Starfruit Wine
2. Ancient Fruit Wine
3. Goat Cheese
4. Cheese
5. Other Wines

Cheese has a faster return though, so you can put that money to use. Depends on if you're saving for super expensive stuff like the clock or if you want to reinvest that money.

Ideal process is grow enough starfruit for three caskings in the summer, turn that to wine, then cask that wine for your other seasons. Takes a year for that to fully pay off though, so it's more of a year 3+ thing. Year 1/2 if you have casks I'd put cheese in them.

Forage items also go Sunday to Saturday. As in they all disappear on Saturday night and new ones spawn on Sunday. Not much reasoning behind that either but it is what it is.

Seasonal Villager Outfits has been nice, but it also looks like the creator's on vacation for the moment, and has hidden it in Nexus Mods.

Better Artisan Good Icons is another one of my favorites, though the default pack hasn't been updated to handle Bananas and Mangoes yet.

Recently came across Flower Dancing, which should dress your Farmer in a Flower-Dance-Compatible outfit for the festival. May have misconfigured it; as it didn't seem to work on my current save.

You have to remove all your clothes and then go into the festival. Iirc it works by overwriting the farmer’s underwear during the festival only.

But even if you don’t change your clothes, it makes your dancing less terrible so.

Elle used to have a version of seasonal junimo hut replacements that made it into fun things like a giant mushroom, a big conch shell, a pumpkin, etc., but I don't think they ever got updated to use Content Patcher so I don't have them anymore.
