Where’s the best place to be placing my vote as someone who wanted Corbyn to be PM but now don’t really want to reward Labour for the direction they have gone in?

I can see why the labour members wanted kier, i jist don't think he's loved up to the expectations put on him by any standard other than being "not corbyn". Kiers only level of success has been in internal politics for his faction, as leader of her majesty's opposition i cannot think of a single victory, not even a symbolic victory.

I would recommend voting on the basis of what the candidates are like, not their parties. If you vote for a Labour leftwinger you are not actually helping Starmer. Similarly there are very bad, and very good, Greens.

that phenomenon was actually encapsulated very well in a video someone linked some months ago of a fat ginger bloke on a sofa with a woman. he was making racial slurs about priti patel and that professor van-tam who were on the television together and the woman who was on the sofa with him just kept giggling and saying "you're not allowed to say that omg!!!!!! like that

He genuinely couldn't seem to grasp that two white people could disagree with him, and even looked confused and hurt more than scared or beligerent when I, ahem, diplomatically explained what would happen if he didn't shut his loving mouth. (In retrospect I realise I was asking for it, having shaved my head the week before, he definitely thought he had a kindred spirit)

In my personal experience: just reflecting on people I know, there's one guy who always had some funny opinions about immigrants but has definitely been radicalised by social media over the last few years, so we've had to cut him out. Conversely though, I also know one guy who's always openly been very conservative, has been absolutely tarred and feathered for it, so he keeps his poo poo to himself these days. I've also seen a few libs getting pushed to the left, supporting antifa &c (tbf though I know a lot of libs working in higher education, & almost all have dug their heels in. I see a bit more open cop-hate though, which is nice) Basically imo society has become so polarised that people with funny opinions have had no choice but to either double down or shut the gently caress up. I don't think the fash are getting more prominent, but there's definitely a bunch of people who were just a bit fashy before but are now singing it from the rooftops. And of course, those people are being disproportionately signal boosted to make the UK look even more right wing than it is (it is actually still pretty loving right wing)

According to the New Statesman, those weekend rumors about Anneliese Dodds getting the sack were Rachel Reeves (who's after the Shadow Chancellor role) deliberately stirring poo poo: https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/staggers/2021/03/will-keir-starmer-sack-anneliese-dodds-shadow-chancellor The article shys away from directly accusing Reeves but I've rarely seen more obvious telegraphing of what's actually going on from an article.
