Apart from that fun!

Seems my cover operation is useless, agents just walk by the whole thing

Agents normally go one check at least one station that is being operated before heading to to doors.

You can get agents to stick around your cover op a little longer by adding side rooms with rest facilities for your valets, which is good practices but also gives them more doors to investigate... its not going to help you much but maybe eventually one of your valets will do their loving job?

That's it! No more hiding in tomato crates! It's time to show that idiota Germany how a real nation fights!

For pasta~! CHARGE!

You need to be careful around the world map when super agents come into play. I don't know if they also strike if left alone, but when stationed in a region they will react to starting a scheme in that region (and adjacent ones I think?) by investigating the scheme, gathering information about you, assembling an elite strike team and then coming to wreck poo poo.

Already started schemes are not affected, but it can mean you have to eat the heat or even a lockdown to avoid a super agent coming home to play.

There are special schemes where you do the Bond villain thing and give them an official invitation to your lair. They last 3 minutes and they cause the super agent to attack at completion, with a minimum level strike team. Note: minimum level strike team still a murder horde.

The advantage is that you control when they attack and each special agent is fairly predictable in where they spawn, so you can prepare the welcoming committee.

E: terminate, not capture, the strike team early on. Termination requires depleting vitality, capture requires almost depleting vitality AND skill. Make sure the muscle has plenty of weapon racks, they're way better at fisticuffs than your minions and they're armed.

Oh it's gonna happen one way or the other, pal.

Got my first soldier agents. They walked around the cover op for a bit scaring people. Then they walked into my little staffroom/canteen combo I had setup in the cover op for my valets and promptly slaughtered like 15 valets in cold blood along with all my scientists because of course they were there. I'm suppose to be the evil one here guys.

Also if your name is Red Ivan you can pull out your rocket launcher and put Agent X and his entire squad into the dirt in seconds. Well, mostly anyway. He gets away. But it's the murderous thought that counts.

It's a very good idea to research Genius stat boosts on Ivan because he is himself worth many Guards. He can absolutely demolish agents. Which is good because I chose the Roboticist quest line first of my Crime Lord rivals and she does NOT gently caress around. Red Ivan personally demolishing 10 attack robots saved me a lot of minion death.

I haven’t figured out the minion manager just yet. It seems like it requires prioritizing jobs at a per person level but that makes no sense for this level of minion turnover with schemes and everything soooo?

Minions assigned to priority tasks will never go on schemes, is my assumption, the way it works is they'll only ever attempt to do the priority job ignoring all other job options.

Game is fun so far, but money is still a bit of a problem for me. Are there some hidden cheats for this one too?

Also, with the save games, maybe I've overlooked it, but is it possible to rename the saves? Could be handy to give a specific name to a save file before starting a specific mission as a backup.

It's hard to tell without directly comparing it but research definitely does complete very quickly when Zalika is directly boosting it. You just need the money to fund it. Also her repair skill is really, really useful for saving technician time and for dealing with sabotage.

IRIS's camera mode might be better than I thought considering how flighty minions are about responding to danger. Being able to get them to actually focus on incoming agents could be a lifesaver. She's seems strong in combat so far at least.

IRIS's camera mode also pops disguises and is generally pretty useful.

Zalika and Iris are my picks and they're both extremely proficient at shooting from afar but don't let them into melee no matter how much they friggin' wanna. Although the winning combo is tie the enemy up with Iris, pop camera mode till you're very close to dead than power-reroute while your minions surround the agents surrounding her to form the double-donut of death.

As a heads up, you probably want to do the henchmen quests first before tackling loot quests because loot quests tend to require Level 2 Criminal Networks, which can eat into your intel and broadcast strength.

Loot is pretty great though. The Flying Pig is literally just an electronic pig ride, which is hilarious :allears:. I don’t know if it does anything, but I don’t care because it’s just fantastic.

That actually sounds like a good use for them.

I put a few of them as decorations in my casino and workers will sit on them amongst casino goers. Not sure if that's good or bad but it helps to have some mooks around when I want to tag people in the casino for capture. Might become a liability when stronger agents turn up though.

They also look cool.

I've been putting them in area's that minions usually don't go to in order to get them to hang around there. Minions will just wander or mill around in the cafeteria if there's nowhere to sit I think.

It's very annoying that you have to pay attention to the heat cost of an event scheme vs your capacity, if you weren't paying attention you could send 6 scientists to an event, build up enough heat to lockdown and then they are all wasted. You can't run a scheme to lower the heat at that point.

It allows minions to ride it to restore morale. I put mine in my control room but really anywhere where that stat gets drained is a good spot for it.

ya for sure - i think it's to make sure you are using traps because trying to win a fight via brute force (minus your hench/genius) is just asking for 30+ bodycount on your side but one nice trap hall can completely destroy a lot of the squads i am seeing

also the ice trap is very good at least in early game, suggest grabbing it once you have technicians

Also it's really absurd how much world map/quest stuff you need to do before unlocking tier 3 research and beyond. There's no need at all to rush science, like, with just 1 of each research station you can probably fully research tier 1+2 before having t3 unlocked

Holy poo poo, be careful with dealing with the roboticist. One of her objectives requires you to turn off power in your base. I had to consecutively deal with Symmetry, killer robots, Agent X, killer robots and then the Lucha Saboteur with more killer robots afterwards. Eventually, I had to just turn off power while dealing with the crazy robots and just brute force minions. I really don't have a chance to breathe, but it's fun.

EDIT: Just another day of killing hordes of giant robots...

Locking auto-tagging areas behind research was a really dumb design decision. Also, defeating an agent doesn't put them on a cooldown like in the original, they can come back instantly. I like this game but I can't help but feel it's going to be much more playable after a month of patches.

Oh thank god this actually exists. Playing a continual game of Where's Waldo with finding and tagging investigators is super obnoxious.

Doors, traps, cameras, guards all seem to do nothing, they just walk right past everything take pictures and walk out. It's ridiculous making me micro that.
