They're somehow a half size too big but I never noticed until now and it bugs me. So I decided to just grab another pair

Just an update on my recently posted recent purchase. Cleaned up the leaves in the leveled out parking area and where I’m gonna pop a tent platform, then built a small place for a campfire and collected/cut/broke up lots of deadfall for firewood. Bonus salamander!

Not the product recommendation thread, but I feel like I’m burning through sneakers/trainers because I always wear out the heel real quick and recently it also seems that my toes somehow require more room than before, to the point where my previously OK Nike MetCons now feel two sizes too small. Maybe I’ll just have to wear exclusively Docs and hiking boots from now on since they seem to be the only things that last.

Here in IL if you show up to a vaccination site after like 5:30pm you can sometimes snag a vaccine if there's cancelations regardless of if you're in the correct group or not. Better to go to someone instead of the garbage. I get my second shot on Friday!

For as progressive Oregon appears to be, it's rollout for vaccine distribution seems… substandard. Then again IIRC when it tried to launch their Oregon Health website it was so Byzantine & full of bugs they ended up cut & pasting the federal ACA site in the end. EDIT: Stopped by Doe Donuts as suggested. Got 2 dozen for my friends as we're going camping out in St. Paul. Fun times. Android Apocalypse has a new favorite as of 16:50 on Mar 27, 2021 |

Healthy young person who works from home on a computer. It was a Walgreens in Wilsonville, with just nobody showing up for shots. The nurse was twiddling her thumbs waiting for customers and pouncing on everyone who walked by the pharmacy window. Use the VaccineSpotter website to see where and when events are that have a lot of open appointments, show up, receive shot! You can also just check the box on Walgreens website and say "I'm Eligible in my county" even if you're not. They've got enough extra doses that they're giving it to as many people post-event as they are during it. The nurse told me if I didn't get the shot at 4pm, she'd just be giving it to some other ineligible person at 7:01

Woods bike the second, featuring our lovely model “my son”, going for the lightweight title at a height of 5’11” and a fighting weight of 130lb. Coleman RB200 mini bike acquired at a deep discount through a friend’s employee discount. We looked at getting a second used Honda or Kawasaki dirt bike but this was a fraction of the cost, and for just blasting around the camp property it’s perfect.

But yeah, if I didn't wear a Skechers oxford that's also kinda a boot, I would be wearing out anything more breathable than leather super quick. Really liked the Nike Tanjuns but I got a hole in them after like 6 months.

Oh yeah I have no delusions about stuff like that I learned piano for years as a kid and a fair bit of the music theory is still with me, and I have no problems reading musical notation and stuff. Right out of the box I was practicing some minor and major scales and my fiancé was testing me by naming random notes for me to find and play It’s more the physical skills that are going to take some time to train myself. Left hand - I’m trying to find comfortable wrist positions where I’m not contorting myself too much. And my pinky finger is much shorter so reaching some of the frets with it is a struggle. Right hand - Still getting my head around the plucking/muting techniques so surrounding strings don’t ring and I don’t get fret buzz Also my rhythm could be better but I’m starting out with really slow stuff and it’s ok I’m using the Hal Leonard book plus a lot of YouTube videos like the BassBuzz dude. He’s great. My guitar pack also came with 3 months of Fender’s online learning for free, I might check that out. Lessons with an actual teacher might have to wait a while, thanks covid Hedrigall has a new favorite as of 04:59 on Mar 31, 2021 |

I don't have a table or circular saw, nor do I have the space. I guess I could borrow my friend's circular saw. Either way I do a fair amount of pruning & scrap wood cutting so it has its uses. While I've never watched ATHF, trust me that this will be brightly colored.

As long as you're ok with the edges all being VERY rough and not anything remotely close to what could be called "straight", then have at it. But if you get into building anything that does need straight and clean edges, invest in a circular saw. A decent corded one can be had for less than $100, almost certainly less if you scour CL/FB marketplace/Letgo/whatever other selling app people are using these days.
