I wonder if a 3rd and 4th pfizer jab would get me to 98% or so protection? Is it against the law to go back for seconds? I feel like since the USA will never reach herd immunity it's in my best interest to get a pfizer every month or so, just top off my tank so to speak

The weirdest side-effect I got from the first dose of Moderna was fairly extreme sound-sensitivity. Like everything seemed painfully loud, to a degree I have only felt after a serious concussion or a couple of my most spectacular hangovers. Didn't happen with the second dose, thankfully. I heard from someone else that their sense of taste got weird after their vaccination, which is apparently a side-effect so rare it doesn't show up on warning labels.

I only got the first dose of Moderna a week ago. The only side effect i had, if it could be classified as one, was that i was extremely thirsty. Also i craved drinking a lot of water

I just found out my brother and his wife/kid are going to my parents for Easter dinner and they literally just got back from vacation in Florida for Spring Training. I had to tell my parents a few weeks ago I couldn't make it because neither me nor my partner are fully vaccinated yet so naturally I couldn't but it's nice to see every other person in my family throw caution to the wind and get together anyway. Pretty sure as far as the rest of my family is concerned there was no change in any family gatherings over the course of the last year. I try not to let this poo poo get under my skin but it's real frustrating to say the least when I have to keep telling them we're not coming because we're high risk but they just keep having get-togethers anyway as if nothing's wrong except my absence.

Talked to my wife today. Apparently her friend at the same event got infected, but was vaccinated in January as a healthcare worker. Symptoms in the friend were loss of taste/smell and feeling a bit bad. She works for a major medical system and they will be sequencing her samples to determine the variant.

Realpost: I got covid, confirmed, about 2-3 months ago. The subsequent couple months have been Extreme Horny, its been nuts. Thankfully unemployed with a wife but wow, it's a real symptom. Also some weird nasal stuff which I assume is related but don't want to see a doc about because it seems to be waning and don't want to be exposed to super covid if I can avoid it. I'm planning on getting vaccinated if doc says I should based on prior exposure, obviously won't if told otherwise.

Regarding Michigan: I picked up a pizza last night from a place with indoor dining in a very blue county. People picking up pizzas were wearing masks and distancing, talking through a plexiglass barrier. 20 feet to the right the entire bar was packed and every table filled. No masks and no distancing. Probably about 60 people. On top of that leadership at my office just said "it's time to come back". We're hosed.

God, that throws up memories of this thing a year ago where Italian doctors were writing open letters to the U.K. with charts and statistics showing us that we were 3 weeks behind them, but still with time to halt the spread, a and begging us not to repeat their mistakes, and our government made posters telling us to wash our hands.

If a kid gets sick there's a danger that one of my sisters can still get it, and bring it home and just send me to an early grave because my body is trash. It's loving infuriating me. Schools should open after a large population is vaccinated. If they open too early is gonna be a disaster, it doesn't matter if ALL the teachers are vaccinated.  gently caress THIS.

Thanks to whoever posted that Vaccinespotter.org link! Wisconsin opens up tomorrow to 16+ and I was able to find and schedule my first and second Pfizer shots starting tomorrow morning. I gotta drive 1.5 hrs to get there, but it's scheduled! And it's nice outside now, so it'll be a nice relaxing drive anyhows with the windows down.
