My first experience with the Dune movie was watching it with someone who read the books and explained what the gently caress was happening, so I could see it being baffling for general audiences.

The movie makes for a perfect standalone story, people need to quit complaining about the rain in the end it's just a cinematic climax that shows dunes climate changing to be more hospitable just like it does in the books

Is Dune still going to be two movies, or is it going to just be four hours long like the Snyder Cut? I'm actually pretty cool with sitting in a theater for that long for D U N C. I also need to say that being able to see Dune in a theater is the biggest thing to get me motivated to get a vaccine asap, instead of putting it off for months like I do with everything else in my life.

I know the thread moved on, but that the society didn't change much between the reign of Leto II and the beginning of heretics is part of the point. How much has the basic societal structure Really changed between now and ancient Ur? How much Will it change between now and a martian colony? Not very much I'd say, initially. Since there's talk of David Lynch's Dune, I just want to point people to Dune: The Alternative Edition Redux, which is a fan-edit made by a person named spicediver. It's their third and final attempt at making it the best movie that it can be, by taking as much of the source material from the theatrical, home-video and directors cut editions, and making it into a Dune movie, and not a David Lynch movie.
