Remember that Garrison has been doing cartoons since the early Obama Administration, and his only audience then was 4chan trolls doing Wyatt Mann edits of his stuff. When I first saw that Garrison about George Floyd at a quick glance I thought it was an anti-vaxx cartoon about how the covid vaccine was killing people or something. It's a testament to how vile that cartoon is that it would have been less offensive if it had been that.

IMO you have to consider size of audience when you’re considering vileness - stuff that’s terrible but not widely known isn’t really worse than stuff less directly offensive but with a much larger audience. Stonetoss may be closer to openly Nazi than anyone else, but it’s still a niche strip that stays within alt-right circles. Garrison, meanwhile, puts stuff out that gets all over Twitter and Facebook and is shared by actual serving politicians. Hell, Garrison got invited to the White House until someone pointed out how anti-Semitic some of his cartoons were. Branco’s probably the only one as vile and as shared by actual GOP officials as Garrison. In that sense, I think Garrison and Branco share the prize for being the worst pieces of poo poo.
