I don't think you're meant to get those Recruit All X achievements on one playthrough unless Fuse can get literally everyone. The all mecs one needs Rabbit and BJ&K in addition to T260Gs special recruits, and Red Turnip is Asellus exclusive but she can't get Riki. You can get all the mystics as Asellus now though. That's neat!

You don't need to explore either completely, but between auto and quick saves and the ability to flee there's really no reason not to poke your head in everywhere looking for cool poo poo. The northern tomb is just pretty obvious when it's been fully plundered.

MonsieurChoc posted:I haven't hit a wall yet but I'm scared of being too weak for the final boss lol. You're right to be concerned, T260G''s endboss is a hell of a thing to fight. I think he's second hardest? I know I never beat it when I was a sprout. That being said, Mecs live and die on their gear as that's the only way they get stronger aside from downloading the right programs--and that's mostly a matter of grabbing stuff off of everything you fight until you get the good stuff--or reading a walkthrough to find out where and how to get the best Mec programs. Anyway, cranked through Blue's scenario, trying to figure out what to try next. I'm debating leaving Riki for last just so I can use the pull of finally opening up Fuse's scenario to reduce the pain, but I'm thinking something a bit less good this time and salving the hurt by doing Red's third. When do I get Doll? I need a gun’s user and Lute is the worst so I’d like to drop him like a bad habit. I talked to Annie and went to Shuzer’s base but I’m getting the poo poo kicked out of me because every boss is a giant wall of HP who can kill you in two hits. I beat the first boss but then Shuzer keeps killing me. Edit: I should’ve explored more before starting any of these BlackX boss quests. I’m way too weak for this lol loving game Oh and I learned Dead End (new name for Heaven & Hell?) with Red as Alkaiser so it turns out you can learn regular moves as Alkaiser. I can't believe they just full-on legitimized Takanomics lmao There's not even a trick to it anymore. If you want infinite money, just buy gold in Nelson and sell it in Koorong, then repeat as desired. That's it, that's all you have to do. Rascyc posted:is DSC still as nuts as before? I decided to start with Blue then do Riki next because Riki sucks and I want some NG+ stuff to get it over with quickly. Nusukan and Silence seem to be struggling somewhat on my run with Blue when it comes to stat and damage growth, more than I remember. OTOH, Gen only just picked up bear crush right before the duel while Liza is still missing one skill for DSC (no points for guessing which) while the 3rd skill she sparked was sky twister so, uh, that's ok too (trinagle kick popped up too despite Liza being terrible at kick moves from what I remember). It feels like the drop rate on the earth dragon is lower too. I tried to farm it for a hyperion bazooka or anything really and I saw a golem suit drop on the first kill and then nothing for the next 15 or so. On the upside, it dies pretty fast to 4-hit combos of particle canon + heavy blaster, 2x tiger rampage which hit for about 7k damage even when Nusukan and Silence had maybe 300hp and similarly low stats. Harrow posted:lmao Emilia is one move away from learning DSC already and I'm only halfway through the Rune quest I think I got all but one DSC move really fast but of course the last one just isn't happening. Sure I can just use Sky Twister instead but come on game.

To answer your spoiler: he doesn't, unfortunately. edit: To answer the above question, it can be worth it for something like Mind/Rune magic where there are spells like Soul Rune or Awakening (name may have changed on Awakening, haven't gotten it yet) where they only affect the caster. Same with sword users getting the gift for light magic for Solar Blade since it's weapon attack power is insanely high

I haven't made a hybrid character in forever but don't you lose mastery for putting an off-type skill in the list? I've always beelined toward having Mastery at all times just for stuff like free double slash or chain or whatnot, since it makes for good clearing of trash mobs and good fallback sustained damage if you blow all your wp/jp on a boss and it isn't dead yet.

So I did look up stats because it was driving me wild, and I found an incomplete guide that was listing damage formulas. The tl;dr of it is that for physical moves, STR, MOB, and VIT all affect damage. Primarily STR, then MOB, then VIT. Guns and Magic are similar, but CON is the primary damage stat, PSY the secondary, and INT the tertiary.

So I have to ask, were the shops in Koorong that sell swords and handguns always there? I have area exits turned on and found an open manhole in the town area I'd never seen before and when I went inside I found a pair of mechs selling a full range of weapons. Is this a new thing or have I just been missing this place for decades?

grieving for Gandalf posted:yeah, I'm just past when they call him and he leaves AGAIN in Kyo and I'd finally exclaimed in exasperation and the next story beat was literally Red deciding it was bullshit too You can grab Cotton on your first visit to Shrike (as well as do Sei's tomb to grab the loot inside) but it can be a bit rough because as strong as Alkaiser's transformation is, the biolab fights are still going to be rough. Cotton's definitely handy early on for Red and you can't go wrong with mechs, especially if you're loading them up with a bunch of high powered gear via the junk shop or takonomics tricks. Though even just exploring will get you plenty of decent gear for them too. If you ever decide to go the takonomics route you can pretty much start at any point, just go to the NW corner ruins in Shingrow and explore the location to pick up a duelist pistol and hyper scale, which sell for around 6-7k in the junk shop. You only need 7500 credits to start on Takonomics. Suffice to say you shouldn't do this on a first playthrough if you want a challenge though, since your mechs will get more than strong enough for even endgame fights and can smack their way through fights like the dragons guarding sme extremely good loot in the IRPO arcana card quest area due to being able to stack a ton of defense and elemental resist on them. Grabbing Cotton definitely makes a lot of early Red stuff easier because the game's not designed with the idea that you'll have that extra party member, let alone a party member with the stats that a monster can get early on with the right transformation(s) and putting them on equal or stronger footing than Alkaiser. If you grab Cotton and/or explore Sei's tomb and grab the 3 treasures and don't give them up to fight Sei, who will stomp your rear end instantly at the start of Red's story you're going to be solidly ahead of the curve. Toss the accessory on Cotton and watch them immediately end fights with Sacred Song. Or whatever they renamed it to. Harrow posted:They renamed Mega Windblast to "Gale Blast" Changes like this are just so weird since Re:Universe uses names like Mega Windblast. Arzaac posted:Enter a place called Bio-Research Laboratory. Seems pretty cool, I try to talk to a guy. Biolab is hands down my favorite area in the game. The music is perfect and then you talk to someone, get a horrifying response, then a shriek/laugh and fight something well above your normal enemy level. Unlucky7 posted:Okay, I got a move that could stun and could pass that fight, but should I try to explore the tombs completely first? Just explore. You'll know when it's time to call it quits. Just remember to save across multiple slots like with all other RPGs mainly so you don't put all 3 treasures on their pedestals, save, and then realize you can't beat Sei and just gave up a really good shield and accessory (and a sword that's extremely strong for early game) for a fight you aren't ready to tackle yet. Even if you screw up, you'll be fine. Besides, the real loot and explore hell for Red is when you're running around buying time on the way to the final dungeon because you can't get everything there by design, which means having to pick between different top-tier items. Though the katana is the best item in there imo and if you picked up a phantasm your not-Red sword user is going to be fine anyways since triple trust and tres flores aren't that much weaker than the best katana techs (and the light sword spell is still stronger). I bet everyone who's played Red's story knows the exact thing in my spoiler without looking too.

I always felt like I was diluting my glimmer chances. Depends on the game. Minstrel Song has a lot of moves that can be used with multiple weapons, which can make switching around less punishing if you find a strong weapon nobody is using at that moment. Scarlet Grace gives you roles for branching out too. You have to deal with durability in Frontier 2 and Unlimited so having a backup option is nice. Sometimes you do it because you were, say, screwing around stalling in a fight with a Genbu trying to get one of your mystics to absorb it and Lute sparks Sky Twister off a Punch and you decide, gently caress it, they're doing this now.
