I started crying when the third-degree murder charge verdict was announced. I hadn't since watching the video originally. Thank god, thank god, thank god. I can't believe we finally got one right. It had to be the most obvious case in the world, but finally we got one. I'm so sorry for Floyd and his family and all the other victims and all the other families. It should have never come to this.

Great news, but the pessimist in me can't help but feel that Chauvin is just going to be a whipping boy for the entire system, and the takeaway from all this is going to be "actually, the police and justice system work perfectly fine".
