If climate change is a large enough threat to all of humanity at some point the international community is going to have to treat nations who flout environmental norms the same way as nations who flout norms on weapons of mass destruction. I don't see any avoiding it if you wish for the world to take man made climate change as the greatest threat facing humanity.

Acknowledging that the genocide happened, and that it was genocide, is a step forward and i don't know if i can complain about it, specifically

That said, it's the kind of empty populism liberals love - it's not seriously upsetting anybody we're not already at odds with, so it ultimately costs nothing. It satisfies a very small portion of the broader disenfranchised Democratic base while giving liberals something to point at whenever somebody challenges their candidate's progressive credentials. "He's the most progressive president ever! He was the first to endorse gay marriage* and the first to acknowlede the armenian genocide*!" And like, yeah, technically true? But what is he loving doing for Americans, today?

What has sold me on controlled opposition is that the few examples of real liberal successes - things that made people's lives better, stimulated the economy, etc - never stick around. Democrats don't fight and die (figuratively speaking) on the floor of the senate to preserve helpful programs. Remember Cash 4 Clunkers? Pure liberalism. Program worked, helped a ton of people. That first time home buyer program? Same thing. Bold Obama Agendas. We even got real credit card reform! And none of those programs stuck around. They didn't get extended or renewed, they didn't get made permanent, even the credit card reform bill has been stripped down and we're back to total loving anarchy with fees and rate increases

If a program could ever sell Americans on how good socialism could be, it is eliminated. If a program is completely unable to function as intended, it never, ever goes away. They want to fail. They are part of the system of literal loving grifters who are looting the country piece by piece while telling us things will get better as long as we vote for them

I understand the spite voters now. After a while you just get loving tired of being lied to. You're playing a shell game every four years and the one you pick is empty every time, you never get the prize, they just take your money and tell you it'll get better, it'll get better, as soon as we achieve some perfect unified supermajority, we'll finally do it! We just can't get anything done! Meanwhile, they're rubberstamping bills that make lives easier for businesses. You really only have two choices: Walk away from the table or punch that motherfucker in the face.

Yeah I don't really get this

Some people definitely got in over their head on loans and some car trades were ill advised, but I knew a ton of people personally who were able to buy their first new car or at least trade up to a better used car at a time when nobody had any money at all, it was a legitimately helpful program and it saved the auto industry, debatably. I don't agree with every aspect of the program, but if Liberals wanted to sell people on their ideas, they would have fought to keep that program intact. Liberals don't fight to protect their wins, they fight to recover their losses. It's maddening.

The American Auto Industry employs a lot of black people and is pretty much the last bastion of union workers left. I'm glad you're mad about capital but you're blackpilling a little hard, bud.

Cash for Clunkers did not take actual clunkers, that wouldn't drive, but instead removed perfectly viable used vehicles from the market at a time when people could least afford to buy new, especially because the architects of the program were allowing banks to steal peoples' homes with no recourse.

I don’t think America should be in the business of naming genocides because it will only do it when it’s good for business. It is actively enabling ongoing genocides and it is committing them itself. This just looks like a weak move by a dying empire

I mean, part of the point of the program was removing cars from the road that didn't meet efficiency standards and keeping them from being driven anymore. In a better, more complete system they would have turned it into a biannual or quarterannual credit and pressed the auto industry to create refurbish programs to bring old vehicles up to modern standards. But liberals compromise away all the components of their programs that would make them loving work, every single time.

In America, we generally have a practical need for car ownership, and a cultural attachment to our vehicles. But many of them should not be on the road anymore and if our government was providing for our needs, and acknowledging automotive access as such, they would have kept and expanded the program. But Liberals, or at least the ones running the government, don't really seem to want these programs to succeed. I have yet to see a liberal agenda put forth in my lifetime that was not built to fail and I loving hate it.
