Officer succumbed to injuries after getting foot stuck in a bucket, and then while trying to remove bucket, bumped into a door that had a bucket balanced on it, which fell on to his head and became stuck, and then stepped on a rake that was laying out which struck him in the head

Buckets were a dark color, so fellow officers let a few poorly aimed warning shots off that struck victim three times in center mass and twice in the back of the head.

The officer suffered a variety of injuries while attempting enter suspect's domicile. Suspect had booby-trapped the building in order to prevent the officer from entering, including spraying water on the stairs to make them slippery and arranging a butane lighter over the backdoor such that it ignited and burned the officer's head as he attempted to enter.

At 11:35 the officer entered the restroom of the Chipotle. The officer noticed a man behaving strangely and appearing to be impersonating a police officer. The suspect did not respond to verbal commands and showed very hostile body language. The officer moved to restrain the suspect at which point the suspect attacked. During the ensuing struggle the officer suffered several deep lacerations consistent with injuries caused by broken glass, suggesting that the suspect was armed with an improvised weapon. Employees of the Chipotle were drawn by the commotion and discovered the officer severely wounded and no sign of the suspect at the scene. The officer later died of his injuries.

We at the Boston Police Department are now turning to the public for any leads in bringing down this dangerous criminal.
