Wow. They removed the stock hubcaps that are attached to the lugs and look nicer to replace them with Discount Auto Parts finest plastic crap. I had a neighbor who swapped a set of American Racing steelies he had on his Camaro for a set of TSW "alpines" because he said they "looked sick" but it turns out they were the wrong lug pattern so he ended up with plastic hub caps that looked like those. When I moved away almost ten years ago he was still rolling on stock GM rims with plastic hub caps.

...do people really care/notice hub cap quality? Unless it's missing/broken, or something that actually draws the eye like an embedded tacky light show, who cares? They're all grey-ish and plastic-looking. I did enjoy her removing the lugs on a tyre still bearing weight. Someone who knows more than me could assure that it's safe, but it just seems like asking for trouble..

Those type of hubcaps have plastic threaded caps that attach to the studs underneath. The lugnuts won't be capped so the hubcap can attach to the excess thread. The wheels underneath look better without hubcaps anyhow, but people and taste and etc etc.

To try and retcon the story here, the front passenger hubcap which we don't get to see was obviously missing and the dealer wanted more for the stock one than autozone wanted for a crate of cheapos.
