This isn't a battle royale, it's a four-way elimination match, which means you have to be pinned or submitted to not win the match, which definitely counts as an L.

Also, SCU just cut a promo challenging the Bucks on Wednesday and Varsity Blondes haven't won a single match on Dynamite yet. And this is for a PPV title shot.

Last week SCU came out and said the Bucks were being mean. I assume they're moving ahead with that storyline.
Also, I'm skeptical of how big a bump Dark Side of the Ring will impart.

varsity blondes should have been in the sydals spot in that eliminator match. scu challenging, and losing to, the bucks, was the most obvious outcome when the angle was started, so im expecting it to go that way.

I think it's an eliminator match, not an elimination match. So basically a normal four-way where the winner gets a title shot in which case only one team eats the pin.

the only kenny title match it feels like they've been building at all is vs eddie kingston, but if they were doing that i'd think they'd be putting eddie in more singles matches. maybe they'll do a stadium stampede or some other big 5v5 match with the elite instead of a title defense i dunno

Christian. I figure he beats Ricky, then Cage, and that gets him into the top 5. Cage's win over Hangman has the added effect of fattening him up for ranking points.

Okay, gently caress it, let's lay all of this out.

AEW World Championship:
- Hangman Page WAS the number one contender until he got murdered by the Machine, Brian Cage, the FTW Champion, Win If You Can, Survive If He Lets You. One would think he has to get his win back from Cage before he can challenge Kenny, which is probably the entire point of Cage beating him in the first place, to keep him away from Kenny for another PPV cycle. I would assume.
- Brian Cage was unranked but beating the number one contender should put him in the rankings. But, again, I would think him beating Page is to set up a rematch at DoN.
- Eddie Kingston's been circling around the entire Elite since the end of Revolution but particularly Kenny the last week. There's a tag match next week where Eddie can win and get himself a title shot.
- Moxley is the number 3 contender and he's also in that tag match! Maybe Kenny eats a Death Rider instead of an Uraken. You could probably get away with one more match between these two guys to blow it off for real this time.
- Orange Cassidy is the number 2 contender. And the number one contender lost last week. I'm pretty sure that makes Orange Cassidy the number one contender to the AEW World Championship. The fact that Cassidy hasn't been anywhere near the Elite makes me think they are planning to do this match but maybe at Fyter Fest instead of DoN? Also, Best Friends are feuding with Death Triangle right now.
- Christian Cage has made it clear he wants to challenge Kenny, for sure, but he's tied up with Team Taz right now as well and it'd be a little weird to break that off to send him at Kenny right now. I was kinda reading Cage vs. Starks at DoN? And then maybe Cage vs. Cage a little later to simultaneously blow off Cage vs. Team Taz and probably kick off Team Taz EXPLODING.
- PAC is the number 4 contender, Death Triangle has been feuding with the Elite since Revolution and PAC and Omega have a lot of history and frankly, the match just sells itself. It would not take very much effort to heat this up very quickly and have it be a worthy PPV main event. The only thing that gives me pause is, like I mentioned with OC, Death Triangle seems to be feuding with Best Friends.

AEW World Tag Team Championships:
- I THOUGHT it was SCU at DoN, but now it looks like they're getting their shot on TV instead? With a couple weeks build? That's kinda wack and makes me think there might be trickery afoot. Like, maybe somebody else wins that match and they don't get pinned so they don't have to break up, or they get the match and they do a draw, or the Bucks cheat so Khan gives SCU one more shot at the PPV? Iiiiiiii don't know.
- Mox and Kingston obviously have beef with the Bucks, but I feel like one of them challenges Kenny at DoN? So. I dunno.
- If the Inner Circle wins Blood and Guts...maybe Proud and Powerful makes the challenge? Or if Pinnacle wins, maybe it's FTR. FTR would be heel vs. heel, which'd be weird, but doable?

TNT Championship:
- I'M
- I'M THE BEST
- I'M THE BEST MAN
- M I R O

Y'know, there's more credible challengers to Kenny than I thought right now. Okay, here's my guesses for Double or Nothing.

AEW World Championship: Kenny Omega (c) vs. Jon Moxley
AEW World Tag Team Championships: Young Bucks (c) vs. Proud and Powerful vs. FTR
AEW Women's World Championship: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Britt Baker
TNT Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. M I R O
AEW World Championship Eliminator: PAC vs. Orange Cassidy
Chris Jericho vs. MJF
Cody Rhodes vs. QT Marshall (some kinda stip)
Hangman Page vs. Brian Cage (some kinda stip)
Christian Cage vs. Ricky Starks
Lucha Bros vs. Best Friends
Texas Bullrope Match: Dustin Rhodes vs. Nick Comorato

And uhhhhhhh, maybe a women's casino match? Where Jade gets to look good, but somebody like Deeb wins to set up a good first feud for Britt?

Give Cage a few competent wins over the nest few weeks and he could easily be a credible opponent for Kenny at Double Or Nothing.

Especially if Kenny demands that the match is also for the FTW title.

Pylons

PAC vs. OC in a world title eliminator would be a good shout. My guess was gonna be that they'd have PAC face OC on Dynamite and lock him into the brutalizer and use that to write OC off for a bit, so he won't be a factor in Best Friends vs. Lucha Bros. I'm also guessing the women's title will be a triple threat between Britt, Rosa, and Shida.

Thing is, you have to build the guy up to the point where he can challenge and then have him challenge and still build up the title match to sell the PPV. I think it's just a little too soon for Cage (either of them :v:) to both get the necessary wins AND build a feud with Kenny.

I am not sure in who Omega or the Bucks fight, but between them and Darby, there is the main event and Miro going after Darby has the easiest build. Omega going against Mox or Eddie doesn't really have the pop and Young Bucks vs SCU would be the best option, but wouldn't main event.

Shida vs DMD works and has time to fully get it's build.

Everything else except Hangman/Cage makes a lot of sense to me, especially since I think this leads to Omega vs Christian Cage at All Out and Hangman at Full Gear. It's hard to see who the Bucks lose their belts to, but there isn't too much long term story there with FTR busy with being in Pinnacle.

a title match between two extremely good talents; particularly between one who looks like brian cage and one who wrestles like kenny omega, does not actually need a year-long blood feud to sell it. you can in fact sell it entirely on being a great loving title match.

Okay but you'll probably make more money if you do take the time to build it up rather than doing it on like two weeks notice.

Also if you do it after Cage completes his face turn, which seems to be on the horizon.

I like Brian Cage, but I would not call him "extremely good". He's good and I like watching him wrestle and it would be easy to do a build between two guys who have/had "Terminator" gimmicks, but if I'm booking purely on what match I want to see, PAC vs. Kenny is the answer and has more built-in history in AEW.
