I connect the red thread from "coiners" to "cops" on my wall. I see the patterns. Content: a good friend of mine told me yesterday they were looking at doing coin poo poo and asked if I was. I attempted to tell them just how bad of an idea it is and why, as well as why I never will. I don't think I changed their mind, but I think that has more to do with them having their mind set on it anyway. I really hope they don't do the poo poo.

Bitcoin is still only worth anything when its sold for a national currency. If the dollar or any other currency collapsed tomorrow then Bitcoin would be useless. Like most things its totally reliant on real world money to be worth anything.

The problem is that crypto is worthless, which means that there is no upper or lower ceiling on the value people can place on it. The speculative value of real things like goods and resources can be under or over valued, but if people need to actually use that resource then there's only so high its speculative value can go before it completely fucks with the market supporting that valuation. The only thing holding crypto back is how many rubes you can wallet inspect at any given time.
