i still find it hysterical that COVID-19, the virus which kicked off the global pandemic, effectively no longer exists. it has been supplanted entirely by more dangerous, more contagious variants to the point that B.1.1.7 is the predominant US strain. the virus you all were hiding from last june is effectively nonexistent now. this is fine though, even though nothing about the case or hospitalization or death statistics has improved since this time last year, we are good to go. open 'er up and get back to brunch!

If you live somewhere that has a fire season and you don't have a respirator for every member of your household, you're missing out. They're way better than disposable N95s and a cloth mask pretty much won't protect you at all.
