There's really nothing in California north of Sacramento, so if the Bay Area doesn't count as Norcal, then not much does.

Skwirl posted:No, it's literal truth, the royal family is loving German and the Prime Minister was born in New York City. Hang on, are you saying now that people are the nationality of their ancestors or are you saying people are the nationality of where they are born? I mean, dont get me wrong, you want to claim Boris loving Pfeffel Johnson as one of yours, you can absolutely have him. I'm just saying that there are a great many people who would agree with you that certain people arent "really" british because their ancestors were born elsewhere, and I think you should maybe think about whether you want to be agreeing with them.

He's basically a mini Donald Trump so I'm happy to take him, if he actually moved here and tried to run for anything Trump would swallow up all the oxygen in the room.

I’m pretty sure they use kettles, but (hot take incoming), it doesn’t matter what they use to heat the water. The thing they gently caress up is accepting absolute poo poo leaves.

If you want a funny british tea fact they have a kettle fitted permanently to almost all british military vehicles. They invented an electric kettle for tanks in the 40's so that you could have a cuppa without having to get out of the tank and start a fire. I usually say British simply because it’s easier than trying to tell people there is in fact a chunk of land to the West of England and we kinda take our identity fairly seriously). Re: Irish accents My maternal great grandad was an Irish immigrant, and I blame being exposed to his accent throughout my youth for the reason that I, as an adult, have a really hard time hearing many Irish accents, at least ones like his. It just doesn't register to me at all until a vowel comes across wrong and then I'm baffled until I put two and two together. I've watched Irish YouTubers for a week before realising that they're Irish. I have no excuse for this. No other regional accent gets me like this. The other types of Irish accent that I know are "theatrical" and "impenetrably impossible dialect."
