The problem with invading Australia is firstly that it's a million miles away from anywhere and secondly, that anything important is thousands of miles away from anything else important.

Unless China hucks nukes at us, they don't have either the air or naval capacity to do poo poo. I mean, as things are right now, can they even invade Taiwan which is barely a stone's throw away and tiny?

However, it does need to be said, that the Australian government (and people) are just massively, massively racist and any good they might do through standing up to a brutal, autocratic regime like that of the PRC is purely accidental.
