dupersaurus posted:Really that’s why I GoPro most of my flights. It’s not like I’m doing anything worth sharing, but if someone wants to gently caress up in front of me… I had one of those moments at SNA a while back. We were waiting to take off, and a C-172 completely botched a landing, to the point where the airplane hits the runway, bounces, lands in the dirt next to the runway (towards the airplanes waiting to depart), then swerves back onto the runway and finally stops. The airplane taxied off the runway, and about the only repercussions were the tower controller sending the next airplane around, and us being very annoyed we didn't get it on camera.

tactlessbastard posted:I believe the Germans had one they assembled and tried to infiltrate formations with. The Germans ended up with quite a few usable Allied heavy bombers. In addition to more usual roles (IE studying them and using them for training) the Germans really liked using them as heavy transport aircraft, as this was something they had almost none of. I've heard the story of wolf in sheep's clothing, and this was definitely a worry of Allied Air Commanders during World War 2. That said, I've never seen a concrete example.
