I haven't consistenly kept up with Phantom, but I'm really taken with Heloise and the fact that she's her own person with her own ideas and opinions, rather than the obedient child who follows her father's wishes, like in Phantom's older days. Newspaper strips zombie on in the same continuity for decades, but I hope the current authors are trying to set up a big change for this one. I'd settle for a spinoff comic or maybe two Phantoms existing at the same time for once.

Yeah, it wasn't good but it wasn't as awful as I was braced for.

pets.com was one of the most prominent victims of the Dot-Com Bubble (which I've mentioned before). It became famous because it invested lots of money into marketing, including a Superbowl ad; however, like many dotcoms, it had no viable business model -- because of the super high costs involved in shipping cheap, heavy supplies (like kitty litter or canned pet food) it kept operating at a loss, and was only kept alive by people investing in it with the promise of returns. When investments dried up, pets.com very quickly crashed and burned.

I recall Zits getting in trouble once over a strip where Jeremy said "sucks," and it even got pulled from some papers. I think this one is a response to that controversy.

Some really good panels in Brenda Starr and Axa— if I didn’t love my Modesty av so much I’d be tempted to get that MURDER! Axa.

Sorry I missed yesterday! I had an unexpected number of errands and then the whole day disappeared.

“Fetal pig in a jar” has always stuck with me for some reason.

This is another big favorite of mine! The punchline is oddly rhythmic, and Connie’s boobs being as shocked as she is makes me laugh every time.

I’ll put up ’69 later today once I have a chance to do some cleanup on the images (and see if I got a snap of the answer to that riddle).

Edit: ^^ :hfive:

...This doesn't even make any sense!

The lot number thing is correct, yes, but she should ask for skeins that are from the same lot instead of different ones! This is because one lot is dyed together all at once, and it may differ veeeeeeeeeery slightly in colour from the previous or next lots. Not much, but it can be noticeable if you mix yarn from different lots into a single piece. Why would she want that??
