It seems like Virgil has always wanted some level of "respectability" or something, though ironically I doubt he's going to get that from Bad Faith. It's kind of baffling to me why anyone who isn't Will (the only one who actually does significant work - Felix/Matt basically just have the role of hanging out and responding to whatever Will has planned out) would quit that kind of gig unless there was something particularly awkward going on socially.

The most disappointing part of this is that we will probably never get any more of the Tabletop Game Theory content. Those were great.

i mean yeah it's been a long time coming. but i kinda hoped he still would come back. he wasn't the most liked by some goons, and didnt' talk a lot, but when he did he often had some good critical hits. i thought overall he did add something to the show but they've been doing just fine without him so no worries. dry boys are good but amber's more MIA status is more noticeble.

Bad Faith seems interminably hard to listen to, but I wish him luck. none of the clips I've seen on Twitter have him saying anything, he's always sucking on a vape while Brie says something that usually doesn't sound great to me but I'm a dumbass

if it were me, I wouldn't quit the free money podcast to save my life though

virgil reading this on the intro to bad faith sounds like a bad teen forced to read a statement from a PR firm after he hit a homeless guy with a car

quote:

After over four years as a co-host, co-producer, and collaborator, I am departing Chapo Trap House in order to pursue other creative projects.

Our partnership together has been nothing short of an immense political and artistic accomplishment. And though it is the right time for me to explore new directions, I will always be grateful for having had the opportunity to be a part of Chapo, and I will always treasure the memories of our collaboration, our friendship, our listeners, and the tremendous success we enjoyed together. This separation is mutual and amicable, and I wish Will, Felix, Matt, Amber, and Chris the absolute best in continuing to build Chapo into an even greater success and in all future projects.

Chapo can continue to be found at http://patreon.com/chapotraphouse and on Twitter @ChapoTrapHouse.

ah i guess this is her upcoming book? https://www.amazon.com/Dirtbag-Essays-Amber-ALee-Frost/dp/1250269628

quote:

The complete story of the victories and failures of millennial socialism, as told by the writer who witnessed it all firsthand.

Amber A’Lee Frost came to New York City as a working class activist in a punk band, arriving just before the start of Occupy Wall Street—the first major event in decades for a socialist movement that was nearly extinct at the turn of the century. She's been at the vanguard of radical politics ever since, as a writer, veteran member of the Democratic Socialists of America, and cohost of the wildly popular Chapo Trap House podcast. She has reported on millennial activism everywhere from the sunny streets of Havana, to the Labour Party’s unexpected victory in the UK, to small towns in her home state of Indiana.

Dirtbag is a much-anticipated debut from one of the greatest emerging writers in modern socialism. This memoir is more than Frost’s story; it is also the story of the only movement that has a chance to reshape our world. Both are chock-full of momentary triumphs, stupid decisions, new international friendships and rivalries, struggle, joy, setbacks, and heartbreak. Both are related with magnetic prose, remarkable candor, and unflappable humor.

Throughout it all, Frost burned the candle at both ends. She kissed a man in the rain at a train stop after he sang her “The Internationale,” and gave herself hangovers that left her begging for death. But all of the late nights, heated debates, and joyous camaraderie was set against the unmistakable sense that somehow, socialism was winning.
