I should drive it reverse next time though. Going clockwise puts the sun on the same side of the car all day. Also it definitely doesn't take five hours...

Your neck would get tired looking over your shoulder if you did that in reverse :v:

How do you like the wilwoods? Any plans to upgrade the rear caliper to something slightly beefier?

That rear wing is the factory Toyota wing for the 1998 to 2000 MY MR2's they weren't too expensive when I bought mine but like everything they've gone up in price significantly.

They are nice to work on apart from being fully imperial, the car hasn't been used in anger at all so I won't know how good they are for a while. I do have the full rear kit, but I need to get a wilwood handbrake caliper to go alongside the upgraded rear one and I may need to get a different MC as some people have reported very squishy pedal feel with the full kit.

This was a lot more dickish than I intended it to be, a long day of irritating business people is my excuse this time but I hope your dad really likes the new car. It's pretty slick looking and I'm currently trying to convince a buddy of mine to at least check out the (now defunct) RC 200t over an Acura ILX of the same vintage.

I didn't even notice it as dickish. I think it needs a few mm of spacers more than gap reduction, though.

I never really paid attention to the recent Lexus lineup, I didn't know the RC 200t was a thing. Looks like a quick chip upgrade and it's basically as strong as the RC 350... but looking at what's available, they're about the same price, so I don't see the draw.

The one dad got is AWD, which is kind of a shame... AWD is slower with a 6 speed transmission versus the 8 speed on the RWD. Plus, RWD.

There are a few cars that trigger music playing inside my head whenever I see them. For yours, it's the remixed Thraddash theme music from the Star Control 2 relaunch.

Menacing is the word that springs to mind.

Your car is awesome.

I got a replacement door for like £50 on eBay and had the entire side of the car resprayed for like £150 and the car sold within 24 hours on eBay to a dude who collects mk2 limited editions (mine was an Icon). It's now living a cushy life in humidity controlled barn somewhere in Kent, appearing at random car shows. :)

I traded in my Kia Optima on a new Mazda 3 Turbo. It is by far the nicest car I have ever owned. White exterior/beige interior, because there's only 1 red turbo 3 within 50 miles from me in a very healthy region for Mazda, and that car had the options package I didn't want. Went with the sedan because rear visibility is more important to me than the more practical cargo hold of the hatchback.

This gen is one of the rare times where I'd rather have the sedan over the hatch.

The white looks really nice with the black wheels and mirror caps though!

I actually prefer the look of the hatchback slightly more than the sedan, but not enough to justify paying $3k more for an otherwise identical car.
