Subway is One of the worst fast food franchises I've come across while working at coke, The yeast in the air forms into black mould in the machines and they hardly ever clean it, even the drink machines. So gross, can't eat it myself. Also, Zambrero sucks. Thanks.

Every subway I've been into in western sydney and the mountains is run by a group of indian people who seem to do a pretty good job of things. The one closest to work consistently has a queue of massive islanders taking the "healthy" option but then loading their toasted sub with gently caress all veg then 3 different sauces. If I go I keep it to turkey and ham with all of the salady things and a sauce. I end up back outside before them every single time.

The next town over has a real proper sub shop. I think it was the first in Australia. Captain Nemos. Fantastic every time. Bread is from a local bakery and if you get there just after lunch they might actually have run out so stiff poo poo. Might go there tomorrow or Friday now that I think of it. They are VERY good.

There's a good sub place in Kelvin Grove called Danny Boy's. Can highly recommend the Italian stallion and the beef brisket. The best thing on the menu was broccoli cheddar soup though.

if you're ever in Rockhampton go to The Pie Guru for top notch pie/smokey. they are only eclipsed by Mount Morgan Hot Bread in the pie game. I will find my tasting notes from when I visited in march and post them

Subway's something that can only either be good and well-run, or a food poisoning dispenser in need of a health inspector and a flamethower. The ones around Melbourne are pretty great, the one that used to be near where I live... fell into category B.

A stand-alone Subway is fine but if you’re in a food court avoid it. Its heavily dependent on location in a way other places aren’t. Subway in a nice suburb is borderline good. Subway at a poo poo shopping centre is just asking for trouble.

My son as just taken a shine to it too so it looks like it's increasingly in my future. The local one here seems fine and while we have an excellent deli and french bakery in town that I would far prefer, at least the parking at subway is better? ...iunno, I'm trying to find an upside. I might hit the deli for lunch today. Agree on the V-cut though.

RIP to Paradigm festival, which has an international lineup of DJs planned for a two-day event on the 5th and 6th. Those DJs have been in quarantine for a week now and no doubt were flown out for that at great expense to the organisers. They have contingency to move it to the 12th/13th but at this rate it's fantasy to think a large outdoor festival will occur that soon. It sucks, not just because these organisers get dicked but because every other organiser will now look at that and go 'gently caress taking on that risk'.
