I'm addressing your repeated desire for a studio to have it's 35k-50k (salary) per month tech employees spend a lot of time modeling your ideal 1836 Japanese start. It is weird to be that focused on something in a 1.0.0. Honestly the counter argument for giving US states more independence makes a lot more sense to me, at least from a gameplay perspective.

It'd own to do something with Oklahoma Indian Territory.

The two big differences between US puppet regimes and European Colonial holdings would be:

1. Despite everything the US puppet regimes would have significantly more autonomy (so long as it doesn't interfere with US interests).
2. There is a plausible deniability in the US relationship to its puppet regimes that doesnt exist in the European Colonial context. In game this would probably mean that it would generate less Infamy/Aggressive expansion to establish them. You could even have them engage in proxy wars on your behalf but that might be asking a bit much right off the bat.

i hope there is a way that you can use the gps money to fight them agains each other, like mexico promising massive access to the americans in order to be able to cancel the debt and kickout the continentals

(then not following through/collapsing and having veracruz seized again)

Hrm, somehow this doesn't seem like an accurate representation of my arguments and position. You get kinda close though because I did say that US states should be represented with a similar system, but it doesn't make sense to me that you'd be up for a system to only apply to some nations and not others; that's more work than what I suggested.

It is contradictory and undercuts their point though; because weebs are a huge market who would actually line up for good Japan content.

This is a pretty small thing all things considered, but I find it really weird if they've actually put down Vlasov as (I assume) a potential leader of a Soviet Union turned fascist. The thing is that Vlasov's defection to Nazi Germany was very much a result of the specific circmstances of his defeat and capture in 1942. While it seems he harbored anti-bolshevik sentiments, he decidedly had not been outspoken and political before the war and was a careerist (supposedly a pretty good division commander) more than anything else.
While he certainly became an icon of treason and collaboration, he probably would never have defected if he had bed not been captured under the specific circumstances he was at a time in the war where it seemed Germany would still win. Basically he doesn't really make sense as a Russian leader of any ideology apart for maybe a fascist puppet government set up by Germany.

Yeah, it's extremely bizarre and it honestly just left me...annoyed?

There's still plenty of white army lunatics in 1936 that would gladly collaborate voluntarily with Hitler if the circumstances were right. Instead, vlaslov because someone looked up "general of fascist Russians" or something on Google and called it a day.

In the meantime, paradox gave so much detail to Portugal that, if you liberate Angola and Mozambique, you get accurate historical figures of Angolan and Mozambican society as leaders.

It's really weird how they invested their focus in the game.

Part of it is also shifting focus. I don't think Paradox set out to make Carlists of Iron 4; it just turned out that the weird ideology-switching focus paths in the second big DLC were a hit, especially the monarchy ones.

Unironically, because time spent developing dumb goggles-and-gears scenarios could be better spent modeling the unique real world economic and political circumstances of 19th century Persia.

Especially since it was incredibly easy to game by simply not enlisting any Dixie pops before the start of the war. Or better yet, use all the Dixie pops to fight in wars against Mexico/whoever else and then delete them all before the nation splits.

Not really unless you consider Northern Virginia to be the entire war, and besides having them be useless pushovers is really boring gameplay-wise.

I'm baffled that people do the gamey yankee soldier play in a game like Vicky. It's not like you're going for an EU cheevo. Similarly I don't understand people who powergame in CK.

It wrecks the Southern state's infrastructure no matter what, but when you game it like that less people in your country die. More pops are better in V2, and losing a massive amount of population when it can be easily avoided just rubs me the wrong way. And again, this isn't an abstract manpower pool, once your citizens die they stay dead.
