Warzone was the first miniature game I ever played, and it was stupid/rad in a very 90s way. There's three things to understand about Warzone : 1) For every infantry squad in your army, you can take one independent character. 2) There's no limit to how much wargear and weapons you can put on a character. 3) All units can take a "wait" action, letting them interrupt an enemy's action. So every game would have on one side a dude in pickelhaube and two inch composite armour carrying a gatling gun with underslung flamethrower in one hand and an electrified broadsword in the other, and on the other side a demon from hell stuffed to the gills with artificial muscles and subdermal armour plates armed with a two meter chainsaw and a machine gun firing bullets the size of fists, each of them backed by a cheerleader squad of the absolute cheapest infantry, and whoever blinks first gets loving obliterated.

I normally bitch about zuck's algorithm because it usually feeds me bizarre ads for poo poo I have no idea what they are. Since I've been surfing the 3d model sites my feed is nothing but ads for 3d modelers and patreons, which not only is a nice change from "egg candeliers" and "refa carat face, one size" but I've found a few 3d modelers that I liked that I probably wouldn't have if not for Facebook.

In that hobby shop I was eyeing a set of plastic mini sprues for soldier dudes that were very similar to the rogue trader plastic kits and had a ton of little parts and gear with them. Were made from the old yellow tinted plastic if anyone remembers that. But yeah I don't remember what company or game they were from and I never discovered them again. All I got is the snapshot from that excited feeling back when I was looking at the sprues. Really should have bought them back then but I spent my money on some metal chaos marines instead

I feel like I had the little sword armor guy? But maybe it's just that I have the catalogs those guys were sold through from 1991 and have seen them all countless times. Citadel Miniatures Catalog, Section Two (the fantasy one), page 276: Chaos Familiars, has some of these dudes, with a bunch of additions.

Purgatory, a weird niche skirmish game that apparently got 'sexier' since I last looked at the range. I actually met one of the creators at a Dropzone tournament when they were getting ready for the Kickstarter. Guess they decided to chase the pin up market. This is 'The Godmother' apparently, so presumably a crew leader?
