Yeah agreed, I don’t do the tidi stuff either. I just like that I can use dictors because in low sec people use exclusively the kitiest most non committal garbage imaginable and it’s hard to force them to fight

Managed to find a pretty good miner for a good price. I'm guessing the miner strategy is find an oblivious pubbie corp in high sec to infiltrate, be a good little miner and maybe one day rob the corp blind? Is that what high sec miners do?

Mining is about isk per effort. Orcas are used because they're harder to gank than a mining barge and the ore hold means you can go several hours without having to empty your hold. It only demands a few seconds of attention to reassign drones every now and then as the rocks deplete.

Just make sure to check for pirate strongholds and for drifters on dscan. The game doesn't tell you but those 2 things will 100% get an orca killed.

Oh yeah, but those only spawn at downtime (I think?) so as long as you check before you go out you're good for the rest of the day.

I remember very fondly about some goobers in one of the corps being angry that I was mining rocks in "their" highsec system. It was kf I think? Threatening diplo action if I remember correctly.

Yeah, you check the system once and you're set. Like I said nothing in the game tells you these things are out there. Even Googling things didn't turn up much about it. A buddy lost an Orca to pirates and I lost 2 Procurers one to pirates one to drifters. I came here after we lost stuff to pirates and found out about strongholds then I died again and people were like "oh yeah drifters too"

And last I heard they removed almost everything resembling actual mining from wormholes so they can't get ore for refining and manufacturing what they need. That and I don't know if they can get the cores nessicary for citadels into wormholes anymore.

I use a little pocket in high sec and there is a dude that lives there called "Jita's supreme leader" or something - anyone that goes on 'his' belt he threatens to gank in local. Someone in my corp told me they used to mess with him so he pays us to leave him alone now High sec is a weird place
