They did apparently want her to give it up, so I think it's a bit of both. More on the endearing side though yeah

If anyone ever asks why this thread is so hard on foob again, I just need to post this side by side with the various 'teenagers want to drive' foob strips.

I agree with this. Jeremy's parents got mad offscreen, and that's it. No need to harp on the kid who already feels bad about it. Having the dad in Zits give Jeremy driving lessons so he knows what to do in the future is a stark contrast to Foob's mom stopping Michael from being taught how to drive by his friend and not bothering to teach her own kid instead.

It's really cool how the town is filled with weirdos and interesting people, and so Wallace and his friends just fit right so you can see they don't feel lonely or isolated like Calvin and Hobbes does. It reminds me more of Cul De Sac, and now I want Petey and Spud to have an awkward time together.

Again a very likpatous story
A kid reading Bloom County feels like a kid saying they read Doonsebury. I guess it's not quite the same since Opus was a penguin, you had Bill the Cat, and not every comic was political I guess, but I'm just trying to imagine a kid really enjoying Walter Mondale jokes.

I definitely recall enjoying Bloom County in grade school, and my brother and I owned three of the collections. I liked the characters and the various storylines. Also wound up deciding that "Ack!" And "Thbbbbppt!" were Bill's consistent ways of saying "No" and "Yes", but I don't remember which was which.

Doonesbury, less so.
