Gearbox had an e3 thing yesterday, I did "ctrl+F Duke" on the article, no results. That doesn't sound right. On a twitch stream I saw "Half-Life 3 confirmed" scroll on the side chat, somebody knows something...

Gloomwood looks great, you can see he really got the original Thief spirit. The combination of lo-fi visuals with rich aural sounds is :chefkiss:

Looks like my dream game with the sole exception of the light gem being a thumb ring. Would rather just have something unobtrusive on the hud, thumb ring just looks odd.

e3m9 blew my mind when I first played it, I had assumed the emulator had glitched. e3m2 I only recall as "that cheesy hand map with too many cacos". Going back to some of those other hot takes; Heretic only seemed cool during the demo, the full game quickly showed sadomasochistic traps/murderholes and the weapon progression quickly turned into 'huh?'. It's a better game in that if I had to be locked in a room with nothing but Doom1, 2, or Heretic for 12 weeks for another lockdown I'd probably get more out of it since it's literally a later title with harder levels and more doodads, but Heretic's flow was pretty awkward and the community rallied around only one of those games.

It wasn't at Dusk or Amid Evil level but was fun enough to get my money's worth. I think that, for the first time in years, I'll put some money on the kickstarter for it.

Gloomwood and a hypothetical Teleglitch 2 would be day one purchases for me. Most impressive of the Gloomwood gameplay video is how they nailed the soundscape of the original Thief games.

Graven recently entered early access but it's a real early access unlike of a lot of its contemporaries, where they basically had the gameplay nailed down and it was just a matter of making more levels. Its first patch, for example, really sounds like it shook things up. No clue about Wrath tho.
