It's easy to make fun of Glenys for her strictness in what Mildred is and isn't allowed, but Mildred is a terrifying force of nature and maybe we should all be grateful she only sometimes snuck caffeine as a child.

I remember in the epilogue for the last Bad Machinery book, Allison mentions that Mildred will probably just stay out of jail. He also mentioned in the afterward to the fourth New Bobbins collection (available on his Gumroad site) that he has plans for a Mildred series that may or may not see the light of day.

I also think it's interesting that despite her Father being in the Wine Club For Men, the 18 or 19 year old Mildred can't handle her wine well (of course Neil has many years and pounds over the teenage Mildred).

TN: Reka. It translates to (the)shrimp. I believe it's because he's a new/younger hire, so he got stuck with a joke name. (Even though he's probably been there for 10+ years realtime at this point.) Imagine someone being called Shrimpy in real life.
As for why english phrases like My Man are common (and gutta boys, etc etc.): basically everyone in norway speaks english as a second language, and if you ever visit you can pretty much expect anyone under 60-70 to be able to answer some questions, if not be able to do casual conversation.
But this is pretty much standard across the nordics. (Third languages are worse, since people only have 2-6? years of german/french/spanish/etc.)
