It is completely unrelated to the usage of "pipe hitting" in Pulp Fiction, which is just referring to the slang of "pipe hitter" as a badass who does what it takes to get the job done, often with physical force. That term has a lot of military history and then sort of transitioned into street lingo. The idea of it being related to hitting a crack pipe is a complete fabrication that I can only assume is based on gangsters from inner cities using the term and outsiders just assuming it was crack related. edit: except I guess I have to concede that maybe QT meant it to be a crack smoking reference because I wouldn't put it past him to use it like that.
