When I played DeS on PS3 at launch for NA I had to summon my way through those bosses, 11 years later on PS5 I soloed them with relative ease. Flamelurker was the only one that managed to kill me. I stumbled into the Maneater boss door by accident and still trashed em lol.

I reckon I spent 2 hours over a couple of sessions trying to beat Genichiro and on my last try he went down in under a minute. From that point on I just crushed everything in the game because he taught me how to play. When I got to owl I just beat him into a corner, at which point he hesitated and I smashed him to bits. It was brutal. Probably my favourite action game ever. Give me more of that clashing steel!

drat it I miss tenchu, Back to sekiro chat... I mean if this don’t pump your blood, you’re dead cuz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E1dCgFPGUc That first encounter with the ministry agent alongside the path in the burning state, drat. Sekiro is one of the most engaging games I’ve ever played, even the way you hold the controller with your gaze razor sharp on the enemy, waiting for your chance to strike, it’s wonderful.

My game of the year 2019 was Prey (2017) but if I had played Sekiro that year as well it would have been my number 1. At least Elden Ring is out next year. Not sure what I would do if I had to organise another Fromsoftware games into a top ten list already containing five of their games.

when goty time rolled around in 2019, i legit forgot sekiro came out in that year, and i enjoyed it enough to beat it twice. it just had no staying power compared to disco imo.

For contrast, here's Onikage's music from the first game, a better track in my opinion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wU6odaJDpkM
