I agree wholeheartedly with this. It's an awkward map to play since the best way to play it is to not risk losing coins - that's boring!
I'd be ecstatic if they swapped out Blackhearts Bay to Haunted Mines in QM; it was also "bad", but at least it's a different kind of bad.

Speaking of old maps, I wonder if they'll ever re-introduce that old Hanamura Boss mob.

I at least want to follow the push or something from winning an objective.

Had a game on Towers of Doom once where we completely stomped the other team and still lost. Won every team fight and dominated them the entire game, ended with a one-sided number of kills, but somehow they kept sneaking in and capping the points or getting points through merc camps or the boss. It can be a counterintuitive map but helps reinforce the need to focus on objectives when they're up.

Disclaimer: I am an eternal QM scrublord, so my opinion of things might be bad.

I've never put much thought on which maps are my favorites but if there's one to which I have an immense disliking is Blackheart's Bay.

Because it takes one or two players to constantly farm coins and NEVER interact with the other 2 deathballs to win/lose a match.

And as is tradition in QM, there is always one team that wants to fight non-stop OR everybody in the team wants to farm coins which ends up being a disaster when they get ganked one by one and giving the other team free coins!

I hate the map, I have no idea why it's been in the QM pool for so long after being removed from the ranked ladder for like, what, 4 years?

Make it so that the coin camps don't respawn on their own. In order for a given coin or mercenary camp to respawn, a specific player on either team (assigned secretly at random when the match begins) has to die. This incentivizes you to go out and team fight (because you need to kill the enemy team to get the camps to respawn so you can get more coins to push the objective) and spend your coins as soon as possible (so that they can't be stolen off your corpse if you're killed).

This is probably a dumb solution, but in my defense, I'm not a professional game designer.

Blackheart's Bay is quite enjoyable, with a large scale map. Feeling like you're gonna be ganked with 20+ coins late game running to pay under escort is a thrill, and there's a tf near Blackheart.

They should bring back Haunted Mines, imo it had a decent pace to it and it's not like HOTS has hundreds of maps polluting the pool.

Put them all into QM and Ranked, cowards!

BHB is just awful, a lot of the time optimal play is to just avoid the other team. Too much PVE farming for what is supposed to be the fast paced, team fight oriented MOBA.

YUP

Haunted Mines was also imbalanced because the camps were worth waaaaay more than they were usually made to be worth. I liked the map and I remember it very fondly but it had a lot of issues.

Also, either cut Warhead Junction down to size or remove the loving thing, I absolutely cannot stand that god damned piece of poo poo map.

One of the strengths about HOTS was supposed to be that map variety would push players to pursue different strategies in each map. But players often don't actually like being pushed, and tend to get frustrated when hero strengths vary based on the map type.

That wasn't really the issue. Most people are fine with map variety and people despised BHB specifically. Moba maps need a lot of balancing yet the balance history of summoner's rift is longer than the balance history of all hots maps combined.

I thought the issue was that he could go from one to the other regardless of if they were open or closed? Or was that Falstad or someone else with a global?

Not sure where you’re at in life, but $20 seems decent. A lot of people would do it for free just because they like talking about the game and their characters.

I say take the money and subcontract all the work out to goons who will do it for less than $20.

I just noticed Stukov has been disabled but no idea why, I think someone mentioned the last patch had several nerfs?

I've been playing this dead game for the longest time and I cant remember them disabling a hero ever, maybe Zarya?

I think she got a few hotfixes shortly after release but I wasn't that active at the time to remember that well.

I think his burst pustule that's supposed to apply to UP TO 5 enemy heroes was applying multiple pustules to the SAME hero so you could just walk up press 1 press D and do like their whole health bar.

this patch was extremely not QA-approved. they did a bunch of poo poo that they didn't actually check their work on. for example, removing muradin's quest but not this effect:

which creates some serious weirdness

anyways stukov basically got a rework for the amount of stuff that changed and uhhh turns out they broke a whole bunch of poo poo that make him extremely overpowered as a result

i just tested it for giggles. sledgehammer gives you an "extra" stack every time you storm bolt an enemy hero, but because the base stack was removed now it's just "a stack", which means that muradin is just given +25 quest stacks when he hits level 10

but that also means that the base stack counter is there, so it's theoretically possible to get the level 10 upgrade before level 10 if you take sledgehammer at 4 and land 25 storm bolts before level 10

of course, good loving luck with that, but it's still pretty lol that was their solution

praise chuck, raise heck
They also failed to remove the Level 20 talent for Raynor in ARAM that they mentioned wouldn’t be allowed. We absolutely won a game we shouldn’t have because my buddy was still able to pick the talent that cuts the death timer to almost nothing, which meant multiple Hyperions every minute and he was just killing people while also dying, but up way before the character he suicided on.

You could use command queueing to double-detonate his healing pathogens, I don't know the exact sequence but basically you could poo poo out mega heals with it. This is basically the same tactic as Samuro's hearthstone glitch that has been in the game forever, but this one is worth disabling over I guess.

The only hero that I am aware of ever being disabled other than this was Kael'thas when he had a bug that made Living Bomb cost zero mana. Possible there are others I don't know about, but that's the one I remember. Zarya got a lot of quick buffs/nerfs but I don't think she was ever actually disabled.
