Jucika was created in the period of the so-called pseudo-consumerism that emerged in the aftermath of political processes within USSR after Stalin's death. The political crisis made the Hungarian revolution possible, and even though the revolution failed to overthrow the regime, new Hungarian government saw this as an opportunity to adapt communist ideology to the needs and wants of the general public at home, as opposed to what the ideological centre in Moscow dictated. Moscow, in turn had to tacitly agree to these concessions to avoid further radicalisation of protest elements. This was also in line with Khrustchev's declared liberalisation he enacted to further distance himself from Stalin. Hadn't Khrustchev condemn Stalin at the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, there would be no Jucika, folks. She existed to pacify political opposition with horny. Whether she was a tool of covert propaganda, or actually helped Hungary to peacefully transition to a more democratic society, that's for you to decide.
