But that's... not true at all? Markets like predictability, not stability. Totalitarian governments aren't predictable at all, they're terrible to do business in because you are always subject to the unfettered whims of a guy who's interests are always their own.

I assume by totalitarian he's referring to someone owned by big business whose actions are entirely predictable.

It's a bit hard as there aren't a lot of foreign links yet. Local link
Basically, apparently DeGiro has started selling the orderflow and is routing the orders to some German company called Tradegate.
This is normally illegal in the Netherlands, but with DeGiro having been bought by Flatex, which is based in Germany, they can now do this.
According to the linked article this is in fact also illegal according to European law but Germany has a loophole. DeGiro customers recently had to make a german banking account which allows them to move that money there. Ironically, I haven't actually done that myself. I keep putting it off.
It's a bit scummy that they're doing it without informing the users.

Extremely not a big deal if you use degiro for etfs or normal investing stuff, robinhoods main problem was/is that they operate(d) on such thin margins that they constantly went down or couldn’t fulfill trades during meme runups iirc

Still down pretty big on my 7/16 AHT calls, but haven't figured out my exit strategy yet.

I'm up 33% on my PLTR calls I bought on Friday, and in the past I've only ever lost money on PLTR options so I'm tempted to sell some but I'd like to see a move towards $30 this week which I think is reasonable. That said I've thought similarly before and lost my hat so who the gently caress knows.

I bought back the first AHT puts I sold after they declined by >50%. Thanks again for that suggestion. I have a few more that I’m up ~20-30% on. I’ll let them ride for a bit before I take profit again.

This has come up before, but XNLX is trading at a 10% discount compared to AMD. Is there any real chance this merger doesn't go through?

All brokerages have those fees. The better ones will reverse or comp them, but that's really on an ad hoc basis. Your best bet is calling and asking to reverse the charges.

I signed up (for free) to suredividend.com a few years ago and I get links every week on the top dividend stocks. They also provide excel spreadsheets to download on the top 100 dividend stocks for US and Canada. I found them (the free stuff anyway) to be useful for long term investing if you're looking for dividend investing.

I found this blog really useful as well: https://spbrunner.blogspot.com/ from a person who's been living off of her investments. They are only Canadian stocks but each week she goes into a lot of detail on a certain stock and even builds full spreadsheets on them.

Lol'ing at Etrade taxing you $38 on $40 worth of shares though.

I bought 20, made a few bucks when reddit reddited, sold 15, held onto 5 in case something dumb happened like AMC, and then eTrade paddled my bottom.

Pretty darn mad rn.

And their customer service always says your wait time is 2+ hours so I'm going full Karen.
