I can buy it, but I'm guessing they're procedurally-guided more than procedurally-generated. Generating a ton of prompts to find one with promise, then taking the beginning of that and running dozens of different middles until you find one that fits a joke structure well, then repeating for endings until you have one that makes sense and is funny. Is it procedurally-generated? Sure. Technically. But with lots and lots of human curation along the way.

Yeah that makes sense and that's pretty much what I do most of the time when making content for this thread.

Didn’t the person that run the account dump a ton of the outputs recently to show that it was procgen and heavily, heavily curated?

Oh geez, I wondered when someone would try that. Once we can solve the object permanence issues and put some rules and parameters in place surrounding it, that's going to be goddamn magical.

I'm not sure what you guys mean by "curated". In the sense that the account owner doesn't just let the program spew everything it makes directly to Twitter, then yes, it's curated

Bet it took a lot of work to get those out of a GPT-2. They should switch to 3, it costs more but it barely needs curating cause it can generate Dril tweets amazingly well when you prime it with Drils best. Just watch that thing go.

Man, that would look incredible for any 2.5d game. Also, visual novels would change, that's for sure.

Really gotta check the thread I'm on "I decided to veer onto the sidewalk (I do this every day, it's normal where I'm from) but in doing so I accidentally struck a parked car. I know it's not my fault (who parks in a veering zone?!?) but I still have marked anxiety. Anyhow, this post was actually to say I took a couple xanny bars and I'm feeling a lot better"

It's getting harder, I swear. I feel like there used to be language tells and general logical lapses only a bot would make but... Goddamn, I've seen posts so much like this by real humans that it took "decided to veer" to make me realize it was fake because it suggested too much personal responsibility.

Brawnfire posted:It's getting harder, I swear. I feel like there used to be language tells and general logical lapses only a bot would make but... I've noticed a tell for chatbots by watching different makes and models converse. If they want to discuss multiple topics, sometimes one will make a stream of unrelated sentences and the other will respond to them sequentially. It would confuse the hell out of a human to change the subject every sentence for several sentences, but its simple for machines to hold parallel conversations. They don't notice it happening, they just see and imitate the pattern. Sometimes they will discuss so many things in parallel that their comments become big info dumps, and one split sentence or misplaced period throws everything out of sync in a confused verbal trainwreck. I guess its an improvement over "Ignores everything you say except for the first/last sentence."
