Cool, but maybe the federal government could try and do something about the rising sea levels that caused the collapse? You know, so stuff like this doesn't keep happening?

they can fire the postmaster general with current laws

The only way we are going to address the actual physical/practical impacts of climate change is gonna be some weasal-worded language in a defense spending bill to authorize the army corps of engineers to build seawalls BUT ONLY SO bases don't flood!!!

very true. i am frustrated with the hollowness of the "its not legal" retort to dumping the postmaster general. even if it was illegal, you can pass a drat law to make it legal

Liz will never be a friend to Democrats, but right now she is an ally and one we are smart to capitalize on for the purposes of diffusing/countering the RW BS. Not to mention this step will give McCarthy/Trump and others no end of heartburn.

Remember when Biden created a commission to study expanding the Supreme Court?

Haven't heard much about that lately so I googled it and, get this: the commission is a useless waste of time! Holy poo poo! https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/561037-supreme-court-expansion-push-starts-to-fizzle

Congressional Democrats would prefer to stay focused on President Biden’s infrastructure agenda and conserve their political capital for a potential Supreme Court confirmation fight if Justice Stephen Breyer announces his retirement this week.

They ruled on two relatively inconsequential matters. Georgia's law is not nearly as bad as people think. Even Stacy Abrams and Atlanta Mayor Bottoms recognize that educating the public is the key to keeping the law from hurting voting.

There are some aspects of the Georgia law that are concerning, like giving the state some limited power to remove a local election board. But even that provision severely limits what the state can do. I suspect the SCOTUS will not be as quick to approve of that aspect of the law.

But, never miss an opportunity to yell that the "sky is falling."
