We tried twice I think, then we both closed gta completely and restarted. On the next attempt, alpha went to the island. I remained in the plane and crashed into the ocean.

Alpha was able to complete the mission but it just went to a blank screen, i don't think he got credit for it.

I've read that can happen if you are too far off of the correct altitude. I have never had it happen in 80+ runs. Luck, I guess.

Still sucks though.

The yacht is legit, mainly because of the yacht defenses. It’s the only outside place you can’t be killed, I mean c’mon!

Piss someone off from the yacht and turn on defenses. Watch them try to snipe you and even hear the bullets wiz by. But they can’t get you. The yacht warps physics for you, just like real life rich people. The rules no longer apply to you.

Come, be with us… the proud yacht owners.

Also, not sure if it’s patched, but there was a glitch where you could start privacy prevention, quit your ceo, and turn on defenses. Sit back and watch people get annihilated by the defenses attracted by the privacy prevention bait. I want to try that soon

It also lets you see other subs and vehicles underwater… otherwise they’re invisible. Whether that’s compelling is left to the reader.

Also, congrats on the Futo! Take it down to your bunker and drift it around the warehouse area

Yeah the caches don't really pay much but it can be a fun diversion to go around picking them up. The sonar also works with any minisubs or sub cars, so if you get the Toreador for example, you can drive it around underwater and pick up caches by driving through them.

Lol, I was farting around grabbing them one day… and I think it’s one of the few uses of the sea sparrow.

Get the sea sparrow, Call up sub, find a cache and put a marker down, go to sea sparrow and return sub, fly to marker, call sub, get cache, repeat.

Kinda dumb but also kind of fun… not sure how it compares to other methods of grabbing them. I don’t do it often enough to optimize

The missiles are the same as the ones on the Deluxo, Stromberg, and Oppressor2. I like the Toreador a lot even though I rarely drive it.

My favorite thing to do to Toreador drivers is get in my Nightshark and drive right up to their faces. The Nightshark guns will penetrate the very open Toreador very easily, and if they shoot missiles at me point blank they blow themselves up after a few.

I swear that a lot of problems online would be solved if more tools were available to deal with Oppressors. Changing the shoulder fired homing launcher to shoot a slightly lower powered Deluxo homing missile that would take out motorcycles in 1 hit but at least 2 for everything else would go a huge distance in evening out a lobby. Have it only lock onto flying vehicles.

Really I personally don't have too much of an issue with MK2's. On console auto aim locks onto and follows the pilot so with a little strategy the pilot can be shot off, it helps to use the most accurate ARs for that, or a revolver MK2 with hollowpoints, because they almost never put on armor. Then just drop a prox on the empty bike itself and leave. The general public however has massive issues dealing with them it seems. My godkids can't seem to deal with them at all, but I think it may be a lack of patience.

I don't think they are particularly fun to use. I think the MK1 is more fun to drive than the MK2 is by a long shot, but I prefer a helicopter or a car.

I've changed my mind about the kotsaka. I had some shithead trying to grief me for a few minutes who then ran off to their yacht and obviously activated air defenses, the whole instigation was just trying to lure me into going after them on the yacht. After I didn't approach them for a minute they started piracy prevention, and then again when no one took the bait they started offering to let me attack them (but only while they stood on the deck of the yacht).

I used guided missiles to take them out on the bridge, and then when they tried coming to the sub to grenade it to death I just dove and used the periscope missiles to kill them again.

I love it when people try griefing but are terrible at it.

So... I finally said gently caress it and bought an arcade to do the Casino heist. The prep work isn't bad, but man some of them suck out loud.

I got the job to steal the key card from the guard at Bolingbroke. He was in the top of a tower inside. Somehow I manged to gently caress up in the most catastrophic way possible by getting killed by him. This left me respawned outside the prison with a permanent 4 stars, and the only way to him was through the prison gates with a billion cops, helicopters and so on. I died like 35 or so times, because it only spawned me outside and the 4 stars never went away. That was some rough poo poo.

Also holy poo poo. There are a LOT of preps to do the first time. For silent and Sneaky you kind of need need to do the 6 casino missions or you can't see cameras on the minimap, 6 basic preps after that, then another 6 optional (5, really masks weren't really a thing) preps but at least I am told some of the optional ones you only need to do once. 17 or 18 missions before the heist though? Holy poo poo, that took a chunk of my day.

The tower guard keycard is one of the worst ones. The neighboring tower guards can spot you too if you have to go to the top of the target's tower (sometimes he spawns at ground level), if you're doing it stealthy you can drive the bus up to the tower, snipe the neighboring guards and then go in. The underwater explosives preps often give people trouble too, but unsurprisingly, a toreador trivializes those if you've got one.

That's almost positively what happened but I didn't realize how it happened until you just posted this. I got in completely undetected and made it all the way to the top of the tower. I was behind him and all was well then he alerted and spun around and I got killed almost immediately. I thought he had somehow spotted me out the back of his head but I was on the top floor so I must have been spotted by another tower. Thanks for this!

I have a non-hypothetical question for y'all: If you always played solo, and had a friend who's generally bad at video games starting GTAO with no experience yet, like I don't even think they're gonna play through GTAV beforehand...

What's the first mission-type thing you'd do with them for fun?

I haven't done any heists save Cayo Perico, and skipped most of the early content in favor of CEO Import/Export, so I really have no idea what's out there for two players. Things I'm tossing around:

-Maybe work through the Lamar missions as a duo? I never made it past the first few with random groups.

-MC delivery missions suck to me, but the lore is kinda fun and we could ride motorcycles, so maybe having them start their own MC business and helping with supply runs or something.

-Gunrunning delivery missions? It'd be nice to have a dedicated gunner for a change on insurgent drops, but I think a lv10 character might get one-shot.

Lamar jobs are comparatively brutal in regards to the accuracy and damage of the enemies... I'd gently caress around with random old contact jobs on easy. You get some spare lives and you can bring your op militarized vehicles as a safety blanket, plus no free roam griefers to deal with. poo poo like Lost MC RIP where you're shooting fish in a barrel to get your feet wet.

I did all 6 Casino missions last night with all random pubbies. Took about 5 hours. The first 4 went easy with only a single retry total IIRC. The finale? About a dozen tries because holy poo poo that one throws everything and the kitchen sink at you if you get seen. Eventually the pubbie seemed to get so frustrated he just stopped shooting and running off on his own at mission start and I dismantled the whole place quietly over about 10 minutes. That mission has kind of a hosed up bug actually, that was consistent: Cameras would spot me at a range of almost double it's blue cone on radar in the direction it was looking. After I realized that and saw it happen I did it on the next try. It was basically a puzzle game in the end.

How do you Silent without at least 3 Duggan crates? I assumed the SWAT helmets they all wear would make them immune to head shots. I did a lot of head shots doing sneaky.

My takeaway is that next time I try it I'm going to see if I can't snipe the two tower guards from a distance before I do anything else. Maybe I can do that without getting stars. I also saved the outfit it gave me as a preset, going to see if that works too.

I actually managed to get my armored Kuruma in, then got shot to death on the spiral staircase because when climbing down I can get shot from angles where I can't actually see the bad guys, and it was immediately impounded.

I also finished a frontal assault a bit ago, entry through the tunnels. Went well, did it on the first try, but was 3 and a half minutes and 63 headshots short of Elite. 80 headshots?!? I don't even think I killed to close that many enemies total.

Helmets do make them immune to headshots, but you can still stealth without doing duggan by either meleeing them to to death or knocking them down and magdumping into them. It helps to coordinate with a teammate to get enough rounds into them for this tactic though, you don't have much margin for error if you want to maintain stealth.

You can always snipe the tower guards early and maintain stealth. You can do it from in front of the target tower pretty safely, tho there is a very low chance of a cop patrolling within the prison and spotting you. Extremely rare, but I have had it happen. You can also snipe them very safely from outside the prison. The guards are always there and you can pop them freely, tho the position does move ofc. Irrelevant towers do not have guards, it'll only ever be the target + 2 flanking it

You basically have to go in and out through the front door to get aggressive elite. On your way out of the casino, sprint dead ahead the instant you can and go around the right side of the wall. All the cops to your left won't see you and only the one cop by the swat van to your right will, you can pop him if you wish. Then just run across the highway and steal a car on the other side, then go for the heli or driving escape as normal.
