What Starks said about the "White House"

quote:

There are people who make jokes because there's a group of us that they call The White House. In the White House it's me, Britt (Baker), [Jungle Boy], [MJF]. Those are like the four. The joke, they call us The White House, because we don't get poo poo done. We seem to make it worse for ourselves. You can't count on us to get something approved. Don't ask us to pitch anything because it probably won't go the way we want it to. Terrible at pitching anything or bringing up ideas. We don't even pitch things. People see us talking to Tony and I think they get an idea. If you even knew what we were talking about, we're talking about Curb Your Enthusiasm and Bon Jovi. There's nothing wrestling.

When Britt was on Renee Paquette's podcast she talked about how anxious and neurotic she is before matches, so I can see her having a hard time pitching things.

I'm tired of the AEW "create your own storyline" work that fans pull. It's pathetic and the fact that people fall for it is embarrassing.

No, AEW hasn't been sprinkling in easter eggs for years related to Adam Page chasing Kenny Omega. And if they were, they are idiots for booking stuff that is so complex that only the 2021 version of the kid from the Emperor's New Clothes can see.

The same thing happened on this sub when the original Blood N Guts match was booked that didn't make sense and ultimately never happened. Someone on here wrote a lengthy piece talking about all these easter eggs that only he could see and were totally part of a larger plan. Everyone here bought it and downvoted the poo poo out of anyone who mocked them for it. In the end, the match didn't happen, the storyline was dropped (even though it was supposedly being built up for years) and it just showed that the guy was some schizo nutjob.

Didn’t think it was possible to so completely misunderstand the Emperor’s New Clothes, or the disruption caused by a global pandemic, for that matter.

The wrestling promotion that spawned from a New Japan stable headlined by a guy who had just concluded a 10 year storyline? Pff, what would they know about long-term booking and subtlety in storytelling?

tbf some AEW fans do get over their skis with real-time fantasy booking. I recall Alvarez going on some 10-minute panting spree about how dope Cody's TNT title reign was going to be because he had an idea how it was going to go (none of which ended up happening; the title reign was pretty meh until Brodie murdered him).

But it just goes to show you what happens when people can invest in your long-term stories. Anyone doing proactive (as opposed to "How WWE Should've Booked [everyone Cena ever buried]") WWE fantasy booking these days?

Cody's reign was really cool and introduced some of AEW's most important new talent.

I'm not making a fucking QCS thread for this but seriously can we take a harder stance on Kiwifarms freaks like this guy, Jesus Christ seriously, you used to be better at knocking these creeps down. I guess ADTRW mods aren't responsible like GBS mods are.
Not sure how many times even goons complain when someone gets a non-title shot against a champion as a showcase match, they pop a blood vessel explaining how it devalues x move or y championship because it lasted z minutes, then 4-6 months later it's totally forgotten about because that person is one of their new favorite wrestlers in AEW.

Hell, it happened with Adam Page at the first ever show. The only thing AEW is really guilty of in that regard is showcasing someone in a match before fleshing out the character and why we should care about them but there's Dark and Elevation for that now

And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.

They do, in the reply thread. The "logic" is that Twitter wasn't around back then, so the IWC was much smaller. Except it wasn't. Wrestling websites, forums, and chats were all over the place, and WWE was red hot at the time. Given today's ratings, more people were probably watching and discussing WWE back then than they are now.

It’s hard to understate how pro-WWE the IWC was until about 5 or 6 years ago.
