It'd be pretty cool if we had an actual leftwing political party that was pushing for massive infrastructure and social security spending. But instead we have 2 rightwing parties competing over who is best at managing a liberal "democracy".

yeah the dial hasn't really budged in at least a decade. maybe it feels like the fringe far right is a little less relevant than it's been? which you'd think would be a good thing, but really it's just because the lnp shifted to hoover them up. like in a mainstream sense, what do people even give a poo poo about politically in this country anymore?

Funny thing is, some people I talk to generally agree with things like UBI, workers rights and unions, better healthcare, schooling, ending privitisation, agree the LNP are idiots, etc. Then they'll happily vote Libs or Nats or whatever just like they always have. Fuckin oath.
