I really hate reddit. It used to be okay to check if a product I needed to buy was a scam or something was bad about it. Once marketing companies started paying for review websites to give them great reviews or place them at the top of the list it got hard for me to just Google "best dong sheeth 2021" so I would Google "best dong sheeth reddit" but I learned a few years ago by working at a place that did this, marketing teams buy reddit accounts and then make some of those big giant posts and upvote themselves. So now I just don't go to reddit ever again. Reddit also has a tone. I don't know how to describe it but it's almost like the users smell their own farts. Like YouTube influencer tone but lighter

I want to like Reddit because I have a lot of niche hobbies and having an active community for each of them is cool, but you're constantly reminded that all the people in those communities are Redditors Finding out I share opinions on vintage synthesizers with someone who has 3000 posts on r/whitepower or something just makes me feel icky
