Also, if I remember correctly all the special effects were done by Douglass Trumbull at a breakneck pace to meet the release date since the previous SFX shop couldn’t hack it. Not sure if that included creating all the models too.

Does anyone know if Arrow fixed their release for the Donnie Darko UHD? It's $30 at Best Buy, and I thought I'd grab it if the discs aren't bad.

I’m not a 5 defender but it seems weird to do a set of the first 4 movies and not just do all the 6 TOS movies. I’m guessing this is really a trilogy release for 2-4 but it was too akward to leave out the first one.

I took a chance and just ordered Donnie Darko. I'll have Arrow send me the replacement disc when there's one, and my machine hasn't had the issues that people with other brands have. Also grabbed the Pitch Black UHD. Gonna scratch that early 2000s itch I have.

Yea UHD is a bit more of a touchy format where there's been instances of certain players having issues with certain discs but not others. I've run into one of them where John Wick 2 always skips at exactly the same spot, I actually have two copies of the movie(don't ask) and they both skip at that exact same moment. So I'm pretty certain that's just an issue with the software my player runs on and it just has some sort of problem reading that particular disc.
