Its very shady as hell, and Wells Fargo has a legacy of shady poo poo, which is probably why they are doing this.

When Philip Poniz opened Box 105 at his local Wells Fargo, he discovered it was empty — and that he was totally unprotected by federal law.

quote:

In the days after Mr. Poniz found his box empty, he began piecing together what had happened: Wells Fargo had apparently tried to evict another customer for not keeping up with payments, and bank employees had mistakenly removed his box instead. After drilling No. 105 open, the bank shipped its contents to a storage facility in North Carolina. After Mr. Poniz discovered the loss, Wells Fargo sent back everything it had in storage, but some items had vanished.

quote:

When Wells Fargo employees opened Mr. Poniz’s box, they created an inventory that included 92 watches. When workers at the bank’s storage facility in North Carolina counted the items, they listed only 85. Also missing were dozens of rare coins that were listed in the first inventory, but not the second. According to Mr. Poniz, photographs and family documents also disappeared.

Oddly, the bank returned to him five watches that weren’t his. “They were the wrong color, the wrong size — totally different than what I had,” Mr. Poniz said. “I had no idea where they came from.”

To be clear, there are two different things going on here.

Pfizer has had trials running for a third shot, of identical composition to the two shots that tens of millions of Americans have already received, as a months-later booster. Trials are going well and they want EUA so everyone can get it.

They have very recently announced that they are working on a shot with Delta-tailored structure, to enter trials next month.

For completeness, I will note that Moderna has been running trials for a vaccine tailored against B.1.351 (Beta, South Africa) for about as long as Pfizer has been trying their third identical shot strategy.

Given that string now mostly turns up references to her story and criticism of or about it I'd say it succeeded quite well...

The heavy showers, accompanied by repeated bursts of booming thunder and crackling lightning, led to flash flooding across the region less than 12 hours before whatever remained of Tropical Storm Elsa arrived in the area with its own batch of rain and gusty winds.

Videos posted on Twitter showed several subway stations taking on water — some from above, some from below. The No. 1 station at Broadway and 157th Street in Manhattan appeared to suffer the most dire effects of the storm, with some passengers opting to wade through filthy water on their way to the platform.
...
As of 5:45 p.m., the National Weather Service’s New York office was reporting that 2.4 inches of rain had fallen on Hering Avenue in the Bronx, near Pelham Parkway, since about 1 p.m. By 8 p.m., about 2.3 inches had been reported in Central Park, the Weather Service said.
“You could be in trouble if you get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Mr. Pollina said.

As for Elsa, the storm’s remnants were expected to drop more rain, with some storm showers mixed in, on the city and the surrounding area starting around midnight, Mr. Pollina said.

The Weather Service was forecasting winds in the 25-to-35 mile-per-hour range starting around 5 a.m. Friday, with some parts of Long Island subject to a tropical storm warning, he added.

I used the WF loan twice in the last 20 years, usually when I had some degree of Credit card debt but had some crazy poo poo happen so I cleared out the credit cards, to get the lower interest rate and then pay it all off in 1-2 years. The two times where both job changes/lay offs and moves including one international. I bounced back out of it.. must have been a recent choice I was getting offers all year for a personal line of credit.

It's probably handy for people who want to buy "lifestyle" goods that usually lack affordable financing... eg. rv/motorsports/boating related poo poo always seems to have sky high interest rates due to the risk of the bank/lender getting stuck with a hard to sell asset.

/edit I had interest rates as low as 5% for the line of credit. Never used it for cars since my credit union regularly does 1-2% depending if its new or used.
