The fight was over. I'm not sure that's what you're meant to stop a fight for, but it was absolute mercy. Walking through 10,000 punches is pretty impressive but I'm not sure I can actually call that "fighting."

I don't care for O'Malley. Just feel the paint man didn't have any chance for turning things around and he was just getting relentlessly beat on. I respect his chin but it shouldn't be a test to see if it can get cracked in 15 minutes if he can't do anything.

This is all ignoring the real issue here; that a top fifteen fighter shouldn't be getting matched against debutants who are only their on a lunch-break from their full-time careers when multiple other ranked fighters put their hands up to fight them instead.

30 seconds left he should have been allowed to finish. I mean he was getting his rear end kicked but being able to finish the fight despite how much he was taking is an accomplishment in itself. He was still up, actively defending himself, and still chasing O'Malley down. That was a poo poo call imo and I have O'Malley on my parlay and wanted him to win. Can you imagine how crazy it would have been if he had knocked O'Malley out.

Actually early stoppages should be more common in fights that turn out like this and Herb did the right thing even if more punches would have been more cool. The momentum of the fight wasn’t going to change in those last few seconds, dude was done. This stuff is really really dangerous and I’m still waiting for someone to keel over in the ring. It kinda happened with Dada/Kimbo but I mean really straight up die
