Twitter video quality is so unreliable that I assumed it was a joke and that if I could see anything it would just be birds diving for fish.

if it's real, those are some strange birds

they're probably just doing some maintenance on the simulation

Commercial space flight is pretty stupid but it is vaguely amazing that something that took entire countries worth of resources and our best scientists is now within the realm of possibilities for (obscenely rich) people

It's still pretty shaky/blurry, but you definitely see something; I got a pretty good look just after 1:00. I can't criticize much, my footage would definitely be shaky as hell from me running toward/away from the birds

I mean personally i lean "yes" to this, but it absolutely doesn't matter to our lives right now, and if it ever does, life will be changing too radically to even be able to speculate about what's next accurately so idk

We were seeded weren't we

If Earth life evolved on Venus and was transferred to the Earth through meteor impacts, we’d have no way of ever knowing. Mars might at least have some fossils we can compare ourselves to.

I remember reading an academic paper that established some measure of genetic complexity then extrapolated backward and claimed that life has been evolving for 10 billion years rather than 4 billion
