buglord posted:What are some ways I can tell my coworkers no to bitcoin, but in a cool way so I am not made fun of? So, in my opinion, I feel like people sort of come to an understanding on their own, maybe like a fork in the road (not fork in a coin), where they'll continue onward or not. That is when they realize that there's always going to be somebody holding the bag. The first thought, naturally, will be the risk to themselves: What if I'm left holding the bag? The second thought is: If I'm not the one left holding the bag, somebody else is. It's at this point people go all in or not, and that's got to do with your own personality: Are you okay with somebody else losing so you can win? I guess what I'm trying to say is that all you can really do is get them to this understanding quicker, but from there you have no control and you're not going to change their minds (and you can't really get made fun of for being sympathetic to the bag holder who loses the ability to feed his family). Even the "true believers" only truly believe that they won't be the one holding the bag should it all come crashing down, despite preaching evergreen growth. buglord posted:What are some ways I can tell my coworkers no to bitcoin, but in a cool way so I am not made fun of? There is 3x more value in Tether then all of dogecoin and Tether is backed by nothing. The only jobs Tether recruiting for is social media marketing. https://tether.recruitee.com/ "Being anchored or “tethered” to real world currency, Tether provides protection from the volatility of cryptocurrencies. Tether is a token backed by actual assets, including USD and Euros. One Tether equals one underlying unit of the currency backing it, e.g., the U.S. Dollar, and is backed 100% by actual assets in the Tether platform’s reserve account." Just flat out lies.

genuinely glad. Heard divabot on the podcast “When the Music Stops” (which is an instant recommendation for everyone in this thread) talking about how Chia takes something with an expected lifespan of several years then uses a few weeks to turn it into some of the most toxic e-waste generated today. The problem with getting one of the discounted GPUs on the market right now isn’t so much “someone soldered a back door onto the board” so much as “all the VRAM is imminent slag” This is great for nVidia, but we still really haven’t figured out to do with all the stuff that’s left over in e-waste after the remunerative metals have been dissolved out waydownLo fucked around with this message at 22:43 on Jul 14, 2021 |
