Agreed with that, everything else is too close and missing the context of place.

Do you handhold that? Or did you suffer the pain of contorting around a tripod that I assume was right up against a wall.

Well that's certainly the ideal tool for what looks like a super awkward angle.

I occasionally see photographers complain about smoke. It certainly messes up a lot of classic landscape vistas because you can't see as far but one would think they'd be happy to have permanent golden hour and fog.

Nice. What city is this? Looks weirdly similar to but definitely not where I live.

yes, that is better. the previous version had no blacks, it was just a mess of gray washout.

The difference between the two looks like the difference between pre- and post-processed vlog files. I think the lower contrast one has a certain retroish feel, like a drive-in movie or something. I wonder if there's a happy medium that darkens the sky but keeps some of the low contrast wash on the coloured portions.

This is more of what I was going for, particularly given the older model car, older looking building and signage, etc. I'll play around with it some more.

I feel like the processing on the first one gives it a certain dream-like quality. Seems to me it has the perceptual effect of lowering the exposure a little too. On the pure black edit I notice the houses a lot more which isn't necessarily for the best. Kind of prefer the unreality of the grey edit tbh.
