You've already been banned for being too dumb for c-spam, which is a hell of an achievement, but for the benefit of anyone else reading - because no vaccine is 100% effective which is why it's essential as many people as possible get vaccinated and you don't get to point and laugh at the idea of the unvaccinated population dying - they're going to take us all down with them.

My understanding is that you can still contract the virus and test positive but are dramatically less likely to develop serious illness after vaccination?

I love the beeb take that it's okay that Saj visited a care home t'other day because everyone there is double vaccinated. You know, like the guy they're talking about who has caught and likely spread the plague. Any of the million who are getting pinged this week that isolates, is a total mug. But then we all are aren't we?

I work for a London theatre and they've sent out an email to staff saying it's full speed ahead starting tomorrow. A thousand people packed into auditorium seating with ventilation from 1970s air handling units, what could go wrong.

If our opposition had any spine they would at least walk out whenever they're in the same chamber as the PM/Chancellor but that won't be happening. Even Don Hodges has more spine.

It's already been announced that from the 16 August double vaccinated people won't need to self isolate, so what are they 'trialling'? Under what circumstances would they change this requirement?

Several times, the discussions by interviewers relating to 17/18 year old applicants who had said they were supporters of the conservative party described them as 'mature' on that basis.

Now this kid was a dreadful neckbeard weeb, living at home off rich parents deep deep into MRA land. Few years back there was that massive heatwave and this kid just vanished one day, they didn’t think he’d taken clothes and had no idea if any of his stuff was missing. 2 weeks later he phones in. Turns out the lad had A Moment Of Clarity when he couldn’t take the heat any more and went “what am I doing with my life?”. He’d got these limited edition figures worth an absolute fortune that he’d blown his money on, so he sold them. Took the cash to the airport and got some sort of courier seat to Japan. He got himself a job teaching English and an apartment. He’s now married to another Australian ex-pat teacher out there and they got a baby,

The pilot scheme to compare isolation vs daily testing for fully vaccinated people is a real thing, but it's supposed to be random which group you are allocated to. If it's not random, then it's not a proper scientific study. The odds that all the government ministers who joined the pilot this weekend were randomly assigned to the daily testing group are incredibly small. Obviously if the daily test comes back positive, then they immediately have to isolate. Without having seen much written about it, it seems the pilot scheme is to see whether asymptomatic/pre-symptomatic transmission in vaccinated people is low enough that self-isolation is unecessary. I'm interested in the ethics of it, especially as the mask and socia distancing requirements are being scrapped tomorrow. How many unvaccinated people would be happy that the maskless person standing very close to them had been in contact with a Covid patient, and was part of an experiment to see how contagious they were?

At my school some staff have been given the choice between doing a lateral flow each day or isolating. Not sure how the decision has been made. It's all just seemed very random. Obviously there was nothing random about Boris & Rishi.
