Also I'm having a Pixar's Cars Moment over the implication that British trains were sapient during World War I and II.

Well the important thing is that the management spent Christmas getting shitfaced with a bunch of talking trains.

After the first episode didn't seem to impress Grant on Jotaro, and Chip didn't seem super excited for him either, I'm glad they really enjoy the ensemble setup that Part 3 has.

They've hinted at the Alessi episode on twitter too, and that sounds like it could be a fun mess.

It's much more in the vein of older authoritarian conservative values of service, duty, following orders and knowing your place.

The show has changed a lot over the decades and now pretty much resembles a standard kids show.

There is that one episode where Sir Topham Hat/Fat Conductor walls a train up in a disused tunnel because it is no longer of any use.

This is one thing I actually know about from the books I own. That train, Henry, was built off of stolen designs that were actually a failed prototype. When the builders realized what a crap engine it was they offloaded it onto the first buyer, who ended up being the Fat Controller. He was always considered "sick" because he didn't run well, so when he stopped in the tunnel to save his paint job, Topham Hatt had enough of his poo poo and bricked him up.

From what I've read since then (because this video sent me down a rabbit hole), this was because Awdry wanted a specific type of engine for the illustrations but the illustrators kept screwing up the model. So Awdry wrote the crash of the flying kipper as an excuse to pick a more contemporary train design so the illustrators would have have proper frame of reference.

Well Chip had to restrain himself even after saying that you can't spoil Jojo because that'd be a lovely thing to do. Sure, he could've mentioned that gun, car, and Sun could also be potential Stands and it doesn't have to be humanoid projections or in the first episode but that'd color Grant's ideas of what come come next and ruin the whole blind watch of the show thing the podcast is built on. Jotaro's hard to like in the beginnining but you've gotta start low to have something to build up on though.

Though that's a bit different to Henry being bricked into the tunnel since it's an in-universe story that an older engine uses to scare two younger engines. In the show it's Thomas telling the story of the engine who told the story of the engine who got turned into a generator.

The only build error he shows is connecting a SSD to the motherboard and not understanding that it might also need power, otherwise it's mostly not understanding computers in a general rather than building them specifically. Like I get that it's scary messing around in a computer the first time, but he also dives in and puts in a wifi card, so that's not the issue, it's just that he seems incapable of actually looking things up or doing research before diving right in with the most expensive option.

Hey just wanna say thanks for recommending Billiam's Scooby-Doo videos, they really clarified some things about Scrappy's inclusion and why he seemed like a problem. And mainly that my issue is that all the shows aside from What's New Scooby Doo and A Pup Named Scooby Doo just all blended together in my head now and back when I was a kid watching them and it was random anyways. Like, this episode they're hanging out with Don Knotts, here's one with Johnny Bravo, this one has the Harlem Globetrotters in it, Scrappy's in this one, etc. They never really stood out as being different from each other as far as I was aware. It's not like there was an overarching story to the shows so I didn't remember anything from a specific episode at any real point. I didn't even know they had Daphne come in for later seasons.

Also eye-rolling titles for basically everything (x was weird) aside, he's covering stuff I'm actually kinda interested in and had forgotten. Remember Cube World?
