Let me tell you about my opinion about Bernie Sanders and why Donald Trump is his true successor.

You cannot vote Hillary Clinton because she is worse than Trump.

Launched in 2014, Operation Fox Hunt and a program called Operation Sky Net claim to have caught more than 8,000 international fugitives. The targets are not murderers or drug lords, but Chinese public officials and businesspeople accused — justifiably and not — of financial crimes. Some of them have set up high-rolling lives overseas with lush mansions and millions in offshore accounts. But others are dissidents, whistleblowers or relatively minor figures swept up in provincial conflicts.

Oh no, not public officials and businesspeople

how can we not talk about family
when family's all that we got?
wait all that goes to show is that the “detention campaign” has plummeted since 2017. what point are they trying to make

e: and the sentencing rate increased way more slowly than arrests even in 2017. I mean 50-100k arrests per year is still a lot (too many probably) but like. they’re doing a bad job making their point. is China looking to imprison people long term? I thought they were just killing them and burning the bodies?

that no one actually looks at any of the evidence used to support the ughyur genocide claims

the sixth one is just as bad it doesnt say anything about praying before eating it just says that the dude instigated a mob and youre also not supposed to question why the original document is in ughyur script when the language is supposedly being genocided out of existence

"locked up just for sending money abroad" hmm i wonder where specifically sending that money might have made the government mad.

When I was in the Middle East my family tried to send me money from a Bank of China branch in Urumuqi, and it never showed up. Eventually the people at the branch figured out that the loving US Treasury Department had seized it. All USD transactions through the BoC are routed through their NYC branch which brought it under US jurisdiction despite me and my family having no connection to the US and it being a transfer from China to a ME country with no connection to the US. It took the bank weeks to figure it out because they've never seen it before and no one in the BoC branch understood English well enough to figure out the letter/email/whatever the Treasury Dept. sent them.

We had to do a whole song and dance and send a bunch of certifications and letters to the US Treasury to explain that we weren't sending it to Iran before they gave it back a month later, less a ~$300 "service fee" for their trouble.

unless you’re in a place where btc is used as a currency (nowhere, costs $30 per transaction) you’re still gonna have to go through multiple banks to get any cash out

Just a reminder that the US state of New York actually keeps over 10,000 people, mostly minorities, locked up in a massive detention center up the river from the Statue of Liberty, for the most part without trial for months on end until they sign plea deals (.i.e. confess to some crime the police suggest they do) just to get out.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rikers_Island

quote:

The complex, operated by the New York City Department of Correction, has a budget of $860 million a year, a staff of 9,000 officers and 1,500 civilians managing 100,000 admissions per year and an average daily population of 10,000 inmates.[5] The majority (85%) of detainees are pretrial defendants, either held on bail or remanded in custody. The rest of the population have been convicted and are serving short sentences.[6]

also note that according to tweet number two these facilities used to be vocational centers which means that even if you assume theyre prisons now the capacity estimated by the reuters piece cant possibly be accurate you cant trust transform any random building into a prison and expect it to be as efficient as one that was actually designed for that purpose

I think the claim is that those training centers were actually prisons?

I know you guys like to hear about the capitalists suffer. So China told Didi delay their IPO in the US stock market. Didi didn't listen because they got 90% of Chinese market and "too big to fail". Now Beijing launched fresh new investigation into Didi and their stock has been sinking like a rock.

Also rumor of New policy which will mandate Chinese after school tuition companies turn non-profit, is bringing down the rest of the China concept stocks. I can get behind this educational policy myself.
