Slayer against Ace!

4th Generation Slayer & Cosplayer, Sayaka! VS The Ace of ChocoPro, Baliyan Akki!

Prepare to be a fan of Cosplayer & “Monster Slayer” Sayaka, a model and gamer who has been on the rise since the day she returned to Ichigaya! She is most known for her “gunshot-like” forearm strikes, picture perfect dropkick, and surprisingly smooth pin & submission transitions. She already has a unique one of each! When she is not hanging out with Minoru Suzuki, she's training her mind & body for battle (on any plain of existence)! Despite her low level of experience so far, she is absolutely marvelous in the ring. She has one of my favorite looks in the promotion, a straight forward singlet!Sometimes simple is better, and a throwback set of gear is always gonna win me over. While she hasn't been around in ChocoPro as long as the other Fourth Generation rookies, she is making up for lost time quickly. Check out her skills in the Tag League (in her team Mi Sayaka with Minoru Fujita) or along with Otoki in “Othello”! Sayaka will definitely leave a lasting impression, both on you and Akki's chest!

The Ace's journey as of late has been blessings and curses in equal measure...in this season alone, he has taken the Future of Michinoku MUSASHI to his limit in the Mountains, lost the Tag League, defended his beloved Asia Dream Tag Championship against TropiKawaild, and has done comms and advertisements for several promotions! (Not to mention being active in AJPW once again!) He has a frightening level of technical skill, an ability to nearly fly across any distance (there is a reason he is called “The Flying Indian” in Japan!), and a charming demeanor all his own. While it is rare that the Best Bros are split up on a card, this time the Champs will have to prove themselves in their own way! How will the Ace test the Slayer? Akki tends to be the living measuring stick for how far they have come in their training...Let's find out just how high this star is rising! If you've never seen Akki work, he is definitely one to keep an eye on...he's gonna be a big deal someday.

Warm Caterpillars return to fight...Drunk Dragon!?

Warm Caterpillars (Mei Suruga & Chie Koishikawa)! VS Masa Takanashi & Chon Shiryu!

It has been an incredibly long time since we've seen the Warm Caterpillars! Well, that isn't entirely true. Mei Suruga & Chie Koishikawa are often together outside of ChocoPro...and occasionally due their own frantic “Kawaii” streams together that involve cooking, fun outfits, and fire hazards! Inside the Square, however, this team hasn't seen action since all the way back in Season 4! A pair of energetic, loud, talented youths (“Apple Genius” Mei Suruga and “Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa) the Warm have proven themselves to be one of the best combinations in ChocoPro history. While this team was formed out of necessity (due to Akki's injury at the time) they ended up being one of the most popular combinations in the series thus far! Running wild strategies and employing a barrage of strikes and submissions (including a team bow and arrow!) this team is sure to fire up the audience every single time. Imagine how much more will have been added to their arsenal as a team since their last outing! Mei is a pin specialist with a goblin streak (meaning she isn't afraid to break your bones in those brutal submissions!) while her partner is a speedy striker (more gremlin than goblin, I've heard) with more stamina than a generous gacha game. Let's get WARM! By the way, the name comes from one of Mei's many alternate characters, Caterpillar-chan. It is her state of being wrapped in a blanket, not wanting to leave bed!

They'll be taking on the recently returned (and beloved drunk) Masa Takanashi along side flashy fighter (and known dragon) Chon Shiryu! Drunk Dragon would be a cool team name, just saying! DDT's workhorse, Masa had been sidelined with injury for most of the duration of the ChocoPro series. He's got great gear, a clever fighting style, a unique voice, a charming personality, and can out drink most of the roster! Masa is the main pillar of Gatoh Move, the person that has always been there to support Emi even when times are tough! (Which means he has DOGU's unending respect!) Now that his injury is in the past, he's looking to impress the online audience of new and returning fans. His partner for this bout, Chon Shiryu, is the Kung Fu Master of ChocoPro! He is a marvel of the scene, having done some of the most jaw dropping acts in Ichigaya, with his own fantastic flair that will have you seeking out more of his work! Considering Chon's love of Jackie Chan, perhaps they can work together to channel “The Drunken Master”? No matter what, this should be an intense (and fast paced) affair!

Mei's refusal to ever call a DQ as well as her overreactions to almost every spot was a great bit of spice to the whole match

I saw the Lulupencil vs Chris Brookes match being nominated in the MOTYC thread so I went and read the opening post of the game day thread to catch up on what's up and that match was fantastic! But also, I wanted to ask, is there always English commentary? It really boosted my enjoyment, and I never really gave Chocopro time of day previously because I thought I'd have to do a lot of homework but that was really easy to get the gist of.

Nonsense. I have not yet begun to defile myself.

It's usually Masa doing Japanese commentary, although it seems to be more Akki commenting in English since Masa started wrestling again

This could be the most one-sided fight since 1973 when Ali faced an eighty-foot tall mechanical Joe Frazier. My memory isn't what it used to be, but I think the entire Earth was destroyed.

As mentioned, the actual in match commentary has typically been done by masa in Japanese, but Akki occasionally does commentary in English. All of the promos are usually live translated by Akki to get the gist across, and a lot of the talent at least tries to speak English somewhat. They also have an official English Twitter that announces cards and touches on storylines. They know they have a significant western audience and try to cater to that, better than a lot of Japanese companies imo.

WATCH LIVE ON YOUTUBE HERE

Eraser is back! Can they take down the Champs?

Best Bros (Baliyan Akki & Mei Suruga) VS Eraser (Lulu Pencil & Tokiko “Otoki” Kirihara)

The Best Bros look to continue their dominance! Baliyan Akki is the Ace of the promotion. His destiny is high above the heights he can currently reach, but it is not a question of if, but when. When you see him fly through the air, transition into a complex submission, or even do a clean striking combo (somewhat of a lost art), you'll begin to understand why exactly he is the Ace. The Zephyr of Ichigaya is only one half of the team, though. His partner is Mei Suruga: the Big Apple, the Red Devil, the Genius...countless epithets, with more being added to the lexicon each day. This rising prodigy is just that, a talent far, FAR beyond her years! How can she be so good with so little experience!? How can she be so animated, commanding your attention even when she isn't meant to? She just passed her third year in wrestling! Mei is one of the many star potential level students of Emi Sakura, and she is on course to take the wrestling world by storm. Can anyone stop the champs? Eraser does have a surprisingly strong track record...

Eraser reforms once more! This team is like an eclipse, reversing the reality of ChocoPro. (Also, it's extremely rare!) How so? The underdog of Ichigaya, professional wrestler Lulu Pencil, has a high win rate with this combination! While the Leader of the Pencil Army might be one of the most popular characters in the promotion, her struggle is just as well known. (If you haven't seen the conclusion to the Pencil War, it is worth it!) Lulu is a hard working, big hearted...weakling. She isn't as strong or as fast as the others but makes up for these faults with tactics (and occasionally deathmatch implements!) With the Supermodel Six-Pack on her side though, her faults are protected! Otoki, the Super Rookie, is considered to be the most powerful member of the 4th Generation. An ageless master of kicks and throws, she even gives the upper echelons a hard time! Don't get her mad! Her deadly technique (and obsession) COMANECI, will probably make an appearance! (Otoki has been wearing this beautiful golden dress as the ring announcer whenever she isn't wrestling, I hope its a hint at future gear...)

ChieDK Civil War! Heavy Drinker vs Lightweight!

Drunken Fighter, Masahiro Takanashi! VS ”Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa!

The President of Gatoh Move, Masahiro Takanashi, has been working his rear end off lately! The other half of Calamari Drunken Kings finally returned to Ichigaya on the “I Only Live Twice” Special! (Another highly advised viewing experience) DDT's workhorse, Masa had been sidelined with injury for most of the duration of the ChocoPro series. This wild brawler with a fascinating unique style that includes fighting game style fancy footwork (and a deep appetite for alcohol!) is one of the most exciting combatants to watch! Masa is the main pillar of Gatoh Move, the person that has always been there to support Emi Sakura even when times are tough! His injury has kept him from performing along side his very tall partner Chris Brookes in DDT for so long, and now he's going to be taking on the Rookie who joined up with Chris while he was injured. Everyone knows that Chie is on the road to greatness, but Masa's unpredictable style and fluid counters should give her a run for her money!

“Too Much Energy” Chie Koishikawa is an incredibly fierce competitor. It is truly odd to think that this phenomenal member of the Fourth Generation wasn't present for the first few seasons...but she is now! I suppose her ChocoPro experience is actually pretty similar to Masa's! Going from online audience to beloved star, Chie is basically the fabric of the promotion itself. She is the Frantic Fencer, a speed based striker that favors alternative knuckle chops and nimbleness. She has a mysterious dark side that is growing, and a spirit that will not be broken! Her technique keeps improving, much like her fellow Fourth Generation members. The future of Gatoh Move is still bright! Chie is out to prove that the wrestling world isn't ready for her brand of extreme speed...Chie Koishikawa will be a major name some day, mark my words! (Also, measures should probably be taken to prevent her from destroying anymore dojos!) She might not be able to handle her alcohol very well, but how can she handle a master of the drink!? Also, she has new gear! Ahhhh!
